I would like to share the sermon I heard today (by the man who is instrumental to finding my way back to Christ).

I recall the title as something like, "The Rocky Road To Faith," and he was talking about Abraham, stumbled on it on tv (Living Truth), while he was in the middle of talking about it (don't know which actual part it was - apparently this is a 10-part series)....but I got glued to it. I started reading my Bible.

I'm revisiting his sermons. Charles Price is now retired.

ABRAHAM: Living By Faith On A Rocky Road

You won't understand God's agenda in Israel until you understand it is narrowed down to His purpose in giving Christ, and the beneficiaries are those who belong to Christ. - Charles Price

God will equip you, to do what you're supposed to do!

"Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."

A simple explanation and illustration on justification by faith.

Still on faith.......

The Sufficiency of Christ In Troubled Hearts

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

This guy scares me a little.. His song 'welcome to our world, is spooky.

Welcome to Our World

Michael W. Smith

Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You've been promised, we've been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child
Hope that you don't mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long awaited Holy Stranger
Make yourself at home
Please make yourself at home
Bring your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
World now breaking Heaven's silence
Welcome to our world
Welcome to our world
Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for them (thorn ?)
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born
So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect Son of God
Perfect Son of God
Welcome to our world

I'm not a Smith fan; I just like this one song. A lot. But Chris Rice is a songwriter, and I really can't imagine why you find the lyrics "spooky."

Experiencing God in the Dark

A couple of weeks ago I was trying to clean up my music files and found a copy of "Nashville Shuffle Boogie" (Mark O'Connor's version is the one I have) that didn't identify the performer/group, so I went to YouTube and stumbled onto this:

TANTUM ERGO

written by St. Thomas Acquinas

At Mass throughout boyhood and beyond I sang this hymn, in Latin, just as you hear it here.

In Latin

Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui:
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.

Genitori, Genitoque
Laus et jubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio. Amen.

In English

Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred Host we hail;
Lo! o'er ancient forms departing,
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble sense fail.

To the everlasting Father,
And the Son who reigns on high,
With the Holy Ghost proceeding
Forth from Each eternally,
Be salvation, honor, blessing,
Might and endless majesty. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

sung by Andrea Bocelli with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

In a word, "Wow."
