This isn't the place to defend it.
This thread isn't about whether the Abrahamic God is real or not.
This subject is showing that JESUS CHRIST is GOD HIMSELF.
It is for Christians or anyone who believes in the Abrahamic God and Jesus Christ.

Like I said - your atheistic argument isn't for this thread.

It also says that those who have Christ, will know the mind of God.
 
While in the midst of responding to Elora in the other thread, I came across this verse. I have to post this now before I get distracted by the other thread.



1 John 5:20

He is the true God and eternal life.
 
Just by these lines, and the proclamation of Jesus Christ - how can there ever be any doubt?



Revelation 21


3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,
and God himself will be with them as their God.


6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.
7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Revelation 21

The saved will be His sons. Why not brothers?
After all, if Jesus is also the Son of God - and we are the adopted sons - Jesus would've been our brother.

What has changed?
What's described in Revelation is no longer that of a God who speaks as the human Son on earth.
It is God who now speaks.

Jesus speaks as The Father.

What God had meant to fulfill as a human, is finished.
Remember His last words on that cross:



John 19
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

How many are dwelling in us? Christ, the Holy Spirit, GOD!

IF JESUS IS NOT GOD HIMSELF - WE CANNOT SAY JESUS HAD VOLUNTARILY GIVEN HIS LIFE FOR US.

There is no such thing as "voluntary" giving of life, if God commands His Son to die for mankind.
The OBEDIENT Son will just simply obey, and follow His Father's command.



It wouldn't be by the Son's own initiative! It wouldn't be The Son's own decision.
It would've been The Father's initiative.
It would've been The Father's PERSONAL decision to sacrifice His only begotten Son.

And yet - lines that should separate Father and Son are blurred.
They are intermingled.



John 10
No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative.
I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.
This commandment I received from My Father.”



If Jesus is not God - He cannot make that claim.............. and, take credit .......................by saying He laid down His life on His OWN initiative.
 
The lines that should separate Father and Son are blurred.
They are........................... intermingled.

They both share the same Titles of honor and glory - which should belong to GOD alone!
Just like this Shepherd analogy. Both are claiming to be the Good Shepherd!




John 10

14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice,
and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.




Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.




Psalm 95:7

For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.
Today, if you would hear His voice,




Psalm 23

Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.




"Know that The Lord Himself is God....." why does that have to be explained at all? Who other Lord is there? THE MESSIAH!

Both are using the Title, LORD!
And that line explains WHY!

Because, The Lord Himself is GOD!
 
And as if it isn't clear enough...........

Both are claiming to be The Saviour!
And God had stated it clearly: HE IS THE ONLY SAVIOUR!



Isaiah 43:11'

How does Jesus fit into that.................................. if He is not God Himself?
 
The Holy Spirit and God, are One and the Same.



Acts 5
3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?
4 While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal?

Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.

He is the image of the invisible God,




God is spirit - therefore, He is invisible to man, and cannot be seen.
God had incarnated - became man - as Jesus.



John 1:14

This explains why Jesus had said:

I and the Father are one.”




And how Thomas realized who stood before him, and had exclaimed:

And finally, He officially - and unequivocally - revealed Himself as GOD.

Isaiah 44:6

Going back to Thomas - this puts the statement of Jesus in a new light.
Thomas' realization of who Jesus is, is expressed in his exclamation. "My Lord and my God!"

The focus is on that realization of Thomas as to the identity of Jesus. It has to be!
After all - didn't the disciples witness Jesus bringing dead people back to life?


Therefore - the answer of Jesus to him, not only refers to believing Jesus has come back bodily from the dead.




John 20
28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”




It also shows there is importance in believing that...................................... Jesus is GOD.

Before doing a knee-jerk, it's only prudent to read and understand what you're responding to.


To say that we can't use the Bible to prove that Jesus and Jehovah as One and the Same, being a CHRISTIAN DOCTRINAL FACT - hahahaha - is so jaw-dropping in its idiocy!


The issue is about a doctrine. CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE!
On the contrary - the BIBLE is the ONLY AUTHORITATIVE source to use for that!
