The NFL Network has a series of biographies on its greatest achievers. The Perfect Season (1972 Dolphins) was a good episode and there is one part that really stuck out to me. In today's day of teams spying on each other to get the upper hand, Don Shula had the playbook of the Washington Redskins handed to him a few days before the big game. Seems a Redskin player had left in somewhere and it was picked up by someone who wanted the Dolphins to win. As soon as it fell into Shula's hands, he immediately had it destroyed and was angered by the though that someone thought he would be okay winning this way. Classy and stand-up guy he was, RIP.

Don Shula, the longtime Miami Dolphins coach and architect of the only perfect season in NFL history, died at his South Florida home Monday morning, according to the team. "Don Shula was the patriarch of the Miami Dolphins for 50 years," the team said in a statement. "He brought the winning edge to our franchise and put the Dolphins and the city of Miami in the national sports scene."
The 90-year-old is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, and children Dave, Donna, Sharon, Anne and Mike.
