If Tua or Burrow had dropped to them then that is comparable to the situation to them picking Rodgers and would have at least been understandable. Rodgers has already came out and said he wants to finish his career in GB and cares about his legacy, the team should have done right and drafted something to help him rather than the one position that will piss him off.
All 3 of the Packers first 3 picks will be backups this season and they didn't address WR in the deepest WR class in years. Crazy.

All the best of those are gone to other teams. As I often say, stupid is as stupid does. If I was Arod I would think that they have given up on him and are moving on. This is the same thing that they did to Brett late in his career. They left Brett with very little talent at wide receiver and expected Brett to make up for it. Now they are doing the same thing to Arod. For the rest of the draft the Packers will be choosing back ups that are younger and cheaper but no better than what hey already have on the rooster.
The first time you said "Arod" I thought it was a typo... but not when you did it a second time. I am a big Rodgers fan and watch as much sports as anybody and have never heard Rodgers referred to as Arod... Arod is Alex Rodriguez.

The last time the Packers had a franchise QB and drafted a 'backup' worked out pretty good for them. IIRC the Packers picking Favre's replacement was one of the biggest stories of that draft,

However, Rodgers fell to them and was a bargain, best available, at that pick. They reached and traded up for Love. I, too, defer to past success but it's not quite the same starting point.
