Nfl 2020

Gronk didn't play the year the Falcons won a sb. He got injured.

Why is it when Brady plays well Brady fans refuse to give his supporting cast any credit but when he struggles, they dump it on his supporting cast?
True about Gronk, I forgot about that. And I can't speak for Brady's fans because I'm not exactly one of them. I just have a hard time when folks look at raw stats in lieu of actual film and determine that a single player had a down year because of the aggregate numbers. Virtually everything an American Football player does on the field depends heavily on what 21 other people do at the same time. QB completions, INTs, TDs, pressures, and sacks are a reflection of how the game went for the entire offense, not necessarily how well or poorly the QB himself played.

He isn't football Jesus. He's going to struggle adapting to a new playbook that calls for aggressive passes, not for 20 screen/bubble throws.
I agree that if TB tries to change him to fit their scheme instead of the other way around it will be a disaster. But I'm assuming Bruce Arians is a lot smarter than that.

The Falcons never won the SB.
Does winning half a SB count for honorable mention at least? :)

RIP, Joe Bugel. Farewell to Boss Hog.

Bugel, architect of the famed Hogs, dies at 80

Former Washington Redskins offensive line coach Joe Bugel, architect of the famed Hogs in the 1980s, has died, the team announced in a statement. He was 80.
No cause of death was given.
Bugel spent 32 years in the NFL but was largely known for his work in Washington, where he coached the Redskins' offensive line from 1981 to 1989. He served as offensive coordinator and was an assistant head coach from 1983 to '89. . . .

The Patriots most certainly upgraded their QB position from last year. Cam Newton is ready, a born leader. Brady is quoting FDR and conducting group workouts, risking his teammates for COVID-19.

Cam Newton gets one-year deal with Patriots, per report

one of the two guys will have to change their attitude

and it won't be belichick

if cam can do that, it could be a hell of a ride

and if he can't, it will be hell

Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, Aaron Hernandez, Darrelle Revis, Chad Ochocinco, etc... all had attitude adjustments when joining the Patriots.

Cam Newton will be a welcome addition to a stacked team.

This is a game changer, an elite QB on top of Edelman, Sanu, N'Keal, Marquise Lee, Damien Byrd and several other TE's and WR's. I hope there is still a FA tight end of some quality they can sign to add to the TE roster and the Patriots are back to play off contenders.

actually, cam is all about cam
which is why he has never been accepted by his team as a leader

but if there is anyone who can show cam how to subordinate his ego for the benefit of the team, it is belichick
if coach pulls that bunny out of the hat - and does not expect cam to be a pocket passer - there is no limit what they can accomplish

while he is no longer on my team, i remain a cam fan. hope he is man enough to take what belichick is about to dish out

Thats actually a smart move by the Pats, because they can utilize some of the concepts that Baltimore is using on offence to help make it more dynamic. It will be interesting to see what happens.

If they now have a QB that can easily run and make yards, a great offensive line, great short route and deep threat WR's and a RB that can catch balls and a whole host of other RB's to utilize, I guess the defenses the Patriots will face will have to have eyes in the back of their heads because if they now also have to look out and protect a running QB on top of all other other threats, it will indeed be a whole new ballgame.

if cam is healthy they must commit one defensive player as a spy
otherwise cam cannot be stopped

And no matter how good Brady was, a running threat he was not. If Cam can heed the masterful minds that are Bill B. and the rest of the coaching staff, he will have a great year (if he remains healthy).

It remains to be seen whether Cam is physically still Cam.

Cam Newton's career right now is encapsulated in this one play....

Lets see if he can be a leader in BBs system. He has a gift wrapped golden opportunity to succeed.

And he already has a new Number One Fan.

You want to talk about a lack of leadership just look at Tom Brady, who is dangerously putting his teammates in danger by practicing during a pandemic.

Brady is DUMB and FOOLISH.

The Patriots are instant SB favorites now given that they are getting a fully healthy Cam Newton entering the prime of his career. Josh McDaniels had a lot of success with Tim Tebow as QB getting them in the second round of the playoffs.

Newton will have elite coaching for the first time in his career. The Patriots wouldn't have signed Newton if he was done. He's better than QBs like Kurk Cousins, Nick Foles, Jared Goff, and Ryan Tanehill. Honestly, I would take a healthy Cam Newton over Dak Prescott.

The NFL fined the New England Patriots $1.1 million and took away a third-round pick in the 2021 draft among punishments for their television crew's filming the field and sideline during a Dec. 8 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns.

In addition, the Patriots' television production crews will not be allowed to shoot any games during the 2020 season, and senior club officials will undergo required training on league operation and game policies.

New England Patriots fined $1.1 million, lose draft pick in film crew fallout

It never ends.

As ESPN's Adam Schefter highlights, a Patriots advanced scout was being filmed for a "Do Your Job" documentary feature the team routinely produces. The New England video crew was credentialed by the Browns to shoot in the press box. A Bengals official saw a member of the video crew wearing a Patriots shirt and alerted the league, which confiscated the video. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network adds that New England did get permission by the Browns (who were the home team), but it appears neither the league nor the Bengals were fully in the loop.

Spygate Part II was a false alarm: Here's why Patriots had film crew at Bengals-Browns game - CBSSports.com

The Patriots get punished for filming something that any fan could film on a phone. Jeez, the NFL is losing credibility fast. It is more like the WWE.

I bet you he will have less problems with protection than he had with the Panthers, the Patriots defense was created to protect Brady.

The Panthers are a terrible franchise that treated Cam like a piece of trash. It seemed like they designed plays to get Cam hurt. That will change in New England.

Cam might shine in NE, but I will be surprised if there is an NFL season. Then, again, money talks. Death...shrug. Well, we can't let a few hundred thousand bodies stop the flow of billions in profits.
