NFL Playoffs

That would be a fitting game and a good one I think with a QB on the backside of a HOF career and a QB just beginning his HOF career.

You are talking about two State Farm representatives who have started doing commercials together.

As a Broncos fan, I don't want Patrick Mahomes to keep playing close to a HOF level.

KC or the Texans have their hands full?

Houston knows almost everything about Tennessee because they meet twice a year.Kansas City played against the entire AFC South this season.

This is NOT Jackson's fault, he just happened to be 'flavor of this season's QB', ala Griffin III, Manziel, etc... But at least now the Lamar Jackson is the greatest QB in the history of the NFL talk will stop.

Anyway early in this season KC's defense had problems stopping the run, they got better as the season went on, but could be a hint that the Titans might cause problems for KC.

He is one knee injury away from being just another mediocre pocket QB.

Jackson is no Russel Wilson or Patrick Mahomes.

He's not because Mahomes and Wilson mostly only run when they have to. They mostly scramble, where Jackson often is looking to run 1st. Eventually that's going to end his career..

Many NFL 'experts' seem to be dying to turn the NFL into a run option college football type game. Every year they go ga-ga over another run 1st, pass 2nd QB. Funny thing is it's many of those same 'experts' that also say because Pro defenses are so much faster, and bigger than college defenses that the run-option game will never work for very long in the NFL.

If they beat the Patriots Ravens and Chiefs all on the road that will be the most impressive gauntlet in the history of the nfl.

Steelers with Roethlisberger and Packers with Rodgers have already accomplished that feat, winning the Super Bowl all on the road as a 6th seed. If the Titans do it, it will be just as impressive as those who did it before them.

At the Ravens-Titans game the commentators had tourettes with saying "rust".

Good grief, Jackson is 23 yrs old. Seattle brought in 33 year old Marshawn Lynch after sitting out for 1 1/2 yrs and he ended up already scoring two touchdowns.

The Ravens just played a better team yesterday. I imagine if the Ravens and Titans played 10 times the wins might go 6-4 Titans.

Watching Titans Henry snowplow down the field is a thing of beauty.

Personally, was happy to see the Titans win yesterday and I'm glad they made it to the playoffs ahead of my Steelers who, considering their injuries, would have been slaughtered.

Two side notes:

1. Is really nice to see that three long suffering fan bases in the AFC will have a chance at going to the Super Bowl, one of them making it there. Always like to see excitement generated in new places.

2. When considering Lamar Jackson and his MVP season, can't help but think back to Cam Newton's MVP season and his run to the Super Bowl, losing to the Broncos and the very immobile Peyton Manning. Like Newton, could Jackson have just experienced his career highlight and it all starts to go downhill from here? Newton, after his MVP season, was touted as the next great thing, not unlike Jackson, and Newton had/has a better arm. Time will tell. But seems the age of the pocket passer ruling the league isn't quite over yet.

The curse of the MVP continues

EST. Don't forget that part. Most of us don't live in that time zone, and neither game is played there.

I aquired Tannahill in the 8th week of fantasy league play and he won me game after game. So for fun I put $20 on the Titans to win
the AFC conference at 22 to 1 & 23.5 to1. 20 to win 463. Henry was a beast but Tannihill had a lot to do with it. Baltimore was -150
to win the AFC.

Now I'll play the other side so if Houston beats KC I'll probably win over $200, If KC wins maybe $120

Smart! I commend you for your vision; not too many anticipated this, and you were spot on.

Exactly. That's why Cam Newton's career got screwed.

Well, he is a very good QB, but is also very young, and young QBs often don't perform well in their first attempts at big playoff games. He will need to mature more and be more careful about running first, so that his career is not short. But ruling him out so fast is still premature. He did have a great season, but yes, it's not unheard of that young guys are able to have great seasons but choke in the playoffs until they acquire more experience.

At this point, the Titans are so hot that they could cause problems for anybody and even win it all. Henry is a beast! Amazing athlete!

i don't understand your post; what was it that screwed cam newton's football career?

Running too much, even head first instead of sliding, getting repeatedly hit as a runner, and accumulating injuries to the point that he is now injury prone and hasn't had a truly healthy season in several years, and who knows if he will even have one again. Cam Newton is an extremely strong athlete but even those bodies start to break down if they are pounded and pounded repeatedly by huge defensemen.

Exactly. That's why Cam Newton's career got screwed.
And RG III.

Russell Wilson is, I think, a prime example of an "athletic" quarterback who takes very good care of himself and avoids many injuries. He hasn't missed a game in his career, despite several unavoidable injuries. (This is football we're talking about.)

You are correct on many accounts. However I suspect that mister Jackson is going to last longer than most suspect and will end up being a good quarter back ala Donovan McNab. He is going to cause defenses fits. He seems to have learned from his predecessors and limit the amount of hits he takes. He has something most dont have at that position, raw unadulterated speed. Give his wideouts a year more seasoning and this team will make a run in the playoffs. Especially if they can tighten their run defense a titch. Henry makes everyone look like idiots.

I suggest we should take a moment to tip our hats to the Tennessee Titans. Won in Foxboro and Baltimore. Old school run-first football with the Comeback Player of the Year at QB. Worth rooting for.

I'd look forward to meeting them in the Superbowl. It'd be a good game.

Yep...Agreed..

But also with the Ravens and Pats out of the way if Andy Reid doesn't get to the SB this year? Wow, just wow!!!

IMO, Wilson should have been ROY, not RG3. RG3 got the keys handed to him, Wilson had to win the starting job from a 10M per year journeyman.

Matt Flynn, had to look him up.

Oh I'm not 'ruling him out'.. I'm just pointing out if he keeps running 1st his chances of having a career like a Griffin III, or as you pointed out, a Cam(though Cam's career is still a ? mark), are very good.

Russel Wilson is amazing, he seems to have a knack for running sometimes, BUT avoiding big, hard hits. Cam didn't have that knack, and neither does Jackson.
