Funny that you say so, if you are British and a soccer fan like your avatar picture indicates. Isn't Messi considered to be the best one, despite never having won the big one (which is not the Champions League, but rather, the FIFA World Cup)? In the history of soccer there are other greats who were considered to be the best players of their time, like George Best, Johan Cruyff, Alfredo di Stéfano, and others, who never won the big one either, as both soccer and American football are team sports. So, drop the condescending crap about Americans obsessed with stats.

Punctuation is your friend. The way you said it, you inadvertently betrayed your own intention, LOL. Talk about a Freudian slip!

International tournaments don’t hold much weight as you can’t choose where you’re born.

Also give me Cristiano over Messi.

You mean Kansas City, which is in Missouri, not Kansas.

Oh, come on. Messi was born in Argentina; not a second rate soccer country. Being born in the Netherlands, not a great excuse for Cruyff, either. George Best, sure, I'll give you this one, but di Stéfano is a poor example for your argument too, as he had triple citizenship and played internationally for Argentina, Spain, and Colombia (although the latter was at the time ineligible for the World Cup due to a dispute with FIFA), all three no slouches as far as soccer countries go.

And don't give me this crap about international tournaments not holding much weight. The FIFA World Cup is definitely the most important tournament ever for both soccer fans and soccer players, and to say the opposite qualifies as one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read here (and that's saying a lot).

Wrong. There is a Kansas City Kansas but the NFL team, Kansas City, Chiefs's home is K.S. Missouri.

Truly depends on who you ask. Most European football fans put more weight into the Champions league these days. If you want to debate about soccer though feel free to jump into the Prem thread which hasn’t seen a lot of action recently.

I alway thought it was in MS, but after research, I see that it is similar to Bristol, VA/TN.
