Report: NFL considers allowing a Chargers move to London

The National Football League has long hoped of putting a team in London. Many expect it to be the Jacksonville Jaguars, who regularly play there. A report Monday says the team could be the Los Angeles Chargers.

Do you think NFL fans are ready for a UK based American football franchise?

I was hoping it would end with "allowing a cat to run the field every game" as that really livened up the game at our house last night.

Anyways, on topic, as a fan I wouldn't really care. I think it's just fine to expand the league like that.

I listen to the cat incident on the radio and Kevin Harken from Westwood One did and excellent job calling the play by play of the cat and its antics. Funny stuff. Better than the actual game.

Wow. I wasn't aware of this. So they want to go the way of the other "football" (soccer)?

My brother lives just outside London; He has said that when there is an exhibition game played ( usually by Jacksonville), the event is always packed.

I dont know if its a novelty effect, or if there is a genuine interest in having an NFL team in London....but it does sound interesting.

At this point after a decade of games and now multiple games a year in different stadiums I think its safe to say the appetite is there. The travel of course would be a factor but they can get around it by playing multiple road games in a row. I think it would be a great move and would be very profitable for the NFL.

I'm open minded about an expansion, however a team in Canada makes more sense to me...

At this point though London has proved itself and its just a much much bigger market. Way more money to make in London than Canada.

If you're interested, this poses a massive logistical challenge that will be massively expensive and the NFL is already having issues in that department.

Not to mention the issue with time difference, but give this a look as it does talk about the specific issue of a London based team in the video.

It could still work and be a money maker, by no means am I seeing its entire unfeasible, but it would be a bit of a nightmare logistically and time difference speaking.
