Major League Baseball 2020

Jose Quintana of the Cubs cut his pitching thumb while washing dishes at his Miami home and needed 5 stitches and a small nerve-repair operation the next day.

He'll be out at least 4 weeks. How does a multi-millionaire not have a dishwasher?
Another great trade by the Sox, dumping Q for Eloy and Dylan.

Memories of this guy...

Read about it and it seems a little bit fishy.
I’ve only looked at the ALeast schedule so far and noticed teams are playing 7/3 away/home or vice-versa against each of their four divisional opponents. Wondering why not 6/4. Against the other league’s East, it’s 3/3, 2/2, 2/2, 3/0, and 0/3 for H/A.

A Ray starter can come in for the 3rd and pitch three innings and get the win. The starter for the other team must go 5. I’d like to see 4 innings get the win this year. And I do expect a lot of piggy-backing of starters. Plus there’s the new reliever rule.

Keeping fingers crossed, but still a scientist.

Latest round of MLB COVID tests yields 66 positives. 13 players have already been diagnosed with COVID.

66 is 1.8% of the 3,748 tested. 58/players and 8/staff. 27 clubs had at least 1 positive result.

Total number of positive tests since they began on June 27 is 85 (0.7%) of the 11,149 samples.

From here on out, Tier I individuals (players/coaches) will be tested every other day.

I would also like to see some commentary, Jack. Do you really think MLBaseball in the US of A can be as smart as South Korea in pulling off the KBO.

Colleges are following the Ivy League. Let college students have extra semesters and years based off what they lose, with some academics also lost.

I would bet against MLB or NBA having their seasons.

We’re in uncharted territory. A twilight zone we’re far from exiting. Imagine what this virus would have done 100 years ago. Talk about biological trench warfare shooting covid-filled arms and rockets.

I’m still imagining my team winning it. They’ll bring it if we have a next year. There’s another team I’m following now, in the ALeast, and they’re coming.

The Giolito-Eaton trade was one that really was good for both teams.

If there’s a winner, it will go to the team with the least COVID IL stints.

Especially when you throw in Lopez and Dunning, the latter back from TJ and a possibility with Kopech out. Moncada is out for now, but they’ve got good minor leaguers, especially with young Madrigal.

When it comes to MLBaseball, I must remain hopeful. The problems facing Toronto are much worse. When people look back in 20 years, they’ll say nothing was ever the same going forward.

Yoan Moncada Rejoins White Sox - MLB Trade Rumors
Both sides of town are getting excited. We're both good. Pump in crowd noise. Player songs loud. Cheerleaders?!
Chicago White Sox: Yoan Moncada recovers from COVID-19 - Chicago Tribune
I've enjoyed watching the KBO. Good interviews. Exactly one week away, the day after the double-header Thursday night.

Moncada tested positive. Good sign if he remains asymptomatic- he won’t miss any of the season.

Sports Betting and Gambling News, and Vegas Odds
Projections and a great menu. I'm thinking of dabbling in the gambling again. 5-inning bets are cool.

Looking at my Atlanta Braves schedule, they play all their games against the NL and AL East. No games at all against other NL clubs. Yet the three division winners plus 2 wildcards go to the playoffs. I understand the situation with the shorten schedule and the virus. I think the schedule would be alright if just the division winners went to the playoffs.

What this schedule gives us isn't NL or AL, but three different leagues, one made up of the NL/AL east, another the NL/AL central and the third, the NL/AL west. I also don't like the expanded rosters, the DH being mandatory in the NL, I'm a traditionalist, having to start an extra inning with a man on 2nd and a few more. I'd rather they cancel this entire season and begin anew in 2021 under normal MLB rules. Hopefully by then the virus will have run its course.

I won't be paying much attention to baseball for the rest of the season. I think this is too fast. Besides a number of high profile players have already decided to skip the shorten 60 game season. If baseball goes through with this, they need a triple asterick next to the 2020 season with an annotation AFU next to it.

sorry guys, the national infection rate is too high

no sport is gonna make it intact until we, as a country, address the pandemic

So the Blue Jays can't play home games in Toronto..

Nice of the city of Toronto to wait until the last minute to let MLB know..

Anyway looks like the Blue Jays will be shuffling off to Buffalo.

Make those cutouts of Met fans having to wear their Met mask.

I have yet to see any cardboard Covid numbers.... lol....So I'm not sure they need masks....Yet!!

Most of the cutouts have Met hats on. That works...

Actually seeing that I think it would be more than funny if the cutouts were of famous sports people. Of course lawsuits might follow, so maybe that's not such a good idea.

I’ll put my picks out before Thursday’s 1st game. Max looked good today. Nats were 27-33 last year as you may be hearing.
