Nba 2020

Lakers move to 12-2, with LeBron triple-doubling and Davis knocking down 34.

Thunder vs. Lakers - Box Score - November 19, 2019 - ESPN

Even with KCP hitting 13 and Howard with 2 blocks and a steal still leaves me wondering if the dynamic duo have enough support to go deep in the playoffs.

Clippers with George and Kawhi leading a far better team of athletes still have to be the best team in LA, IMO.

Lakers, Rockets, Nuggets, Clips and Jazz, with Dallas right up there, round out the top five in the West. No real surprise there, except maybe seeing the Clips hold serve with George out for most of those games.

The East is far different.

Celts---I'm shocked. Seriously. I never expected them to be 11-2
Bucks--At 10-3, they are about where I would expect.
Heat--Heat, really? How the hell?
Raptors--Raptors? No ****?
Philly--Slow start or more of the same disappointments we've seen from them for a couple of years now?
Pacers--Huh? They were in last place a few weeks ago. Now, they are 8-6, half of a game behind the 6'rs.

Well, at least the NBA isn't predictable anymore.

Lakers have a better record despite having more injuries. Lakers players are returning, big boost.

George has only played in a couple games. And the Clips scored 150 points in one of them.

Ya Paul George. Pacers and Thunder fans don't miss him.

When it comes to crunch time, PG won't show up. Didn't do it during the playoffs with the Pacers or Thunder!

You mean like the Yankees?

Can't help it when a team is cheating. The Astros are a disgrace!

I do look forward for the Clips v Lakers games. And, it's likely they see each other in the Conf Finals.

Not sure the old man can hang with Leonard. But, Kawhi is already injured, while Lebron rarely is. So, that should be interesting as the year goes on.

As for GOATs, the key is not missing entire seasons with blown out knees or Achilles, etc. Jordan missed most of a year due to a broken foot, but that was about it. Until last year, I do not recall LeBron ever missing more than a couple games at a time.

pretty obvious leonard has a chronic knee problem. You don't get on load management when you are in your prime.

Kemba Walker goes down

Reports are he is OK, but maybe concussed.

Things seem to be back to normal in the East.

Bucks take the top spot after going 9-1 over the last ten, with a 6-game winning streak.
Heat still looking good; 8-2 over L10, 5-game streak.
Celts are wounded, losing two-straight, but they're still in the hunt at #3, 11-4 over all.

West?

Lakers are as hot as the Bucks.
Nuggets and Rockets both have 11 wins and are playing 8-2 ball, but the Rockets lost two more games.
Clips too have 11 wins, and a 4-game winning streak now that PG is back.

Lakers win again. Not that Memphis is a challenge, but a win is a win.

Raptors are hot on the trail out East, now with Celtics losing and Heat maybe coming down to Earth. Philly showed some mettle yesterday as well.

If Anthony Davis can start hitting and making jump shots, the rest of the league is in trouble.

The Brow is nearly shooting 90% from the free throw line and shooting 35% from 3... that's better than most guards... much better than Ben Simmons who made his first 3-pointer in his 3rd year in the league...yes his first!

Lakers still are not the best team in LA, but they aren't as bad as they were last year either. I put them in at about the 3-seed in the West.

Best team in the league, by far, is Milwaukee. After that, it's a toss-up. Are the Celts for real? Can the Raptors continue to compete? What is really up with Philly and Miami? THat sort of thing. And, of course, we have that pesky team in Indiana. If Victor comes back, what will they be like?
Victor Oladipo (knee) takes next step in return as Pacers get others back, too

Giannis does not have a jump shot. They won't make it in the east. Anthony Davis is better than Giannis because he has a jump shot.

Davis hasn't played a full season yet. Giannis is one of those indestructible types, like Lebron, but 15 years younger.

He got his ass kicked last year against Kawhi. Bucks imo are in trouble if they have to face the Celtics

Celts with everyone healthy are pretty damned good. Agreed.

If LeBron brings what he gave the Cavs for four straight years, the Lakers should be hard to beat. I just have to wonder if the old fart can continue to ball like he's in his 20's.

It is confirmed, the Kings are the new Browns of the NBA;

Vlade Divac passed up on drafting Luka Doncic in the 2018 draft partly because he didn't think highly of Doncic's father, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

MacMahon relayed the story in a recent episode of Adrian Wojnarowski's podcast discussing the evolution of Doncic.

The discussion turned to how the Kings and Suns both passed up the opportunity to draft Doncic despite having people close to the player at the time. MacMahon said that Divac's closeness with Doncic's dad went against the player.

“My understanding is that [Divac] being so close to Luka and knowing his dad so well factored into their decision. Basically, he didn’t think a whole lot of Luka’s dad, and the whole like father like son … well … no, this is a different dude. You messed that one up, Vlade," said MacMahon.

Suns deserve a D+ grade for taking Ayton over Doncic. Ayton could still be really good but him getting suspended is not a good start.

Kings deserve a D- grade for taking Bagley over Doncic. Bagley is a decent player, but I hardly see a star.

Hawks deserve a B grade. I'd rather have Doncic over Trae Young, however, Young has been very good.

Kristaps and Luka....hell of a duo.

The clippers are the b team in la. In a 7 game series, it will be all Lakers home games.

How many legitimate Clippers fans will show up at a lakers clippers playoff game? They are a joke of a franchise.

There’s the best reason yet to root for the Clippers
