Transgender male competing with women

Even there. Dedication, discipline and commitment win the day. There will never be a case of equal effort and .5% muscle mass made the difference. Never. There's nothing to worry about.
So why hasn't one transgendered man won a single event, or even placed, in a men's event yet?

You sound like you've never done a push up.

This is comically unfair.

:coffeepap

That video was striking, not just because of the dominance, but even the size difference. Looks like a man running against kids.

She'll tell you training wins the day because chances are she's not a transphobe.

You don't have to be a transphobe to think that trans women shouldn't be competing with women. Hell, some trans women hold that view. It's definitely not as clear cut as you make it out to be.

Let’s do it this way. Take a man who identifies as a woman and pit him against a woman who identifies as a man and see who cries foul first?

MAN = 5'3", 120#, sedentary

WOMAN = 6'2", 190#, triathlete.

Who is going to "cry foul" first?

In a distance running or cycling event there is only about a .5% difference between the winner and last place among elite athletes. If nothing else, testosterone increases vo2 max, and a an athlete going from a vo2 max in the high 50s to one of the mid 60s is a massive competitive advantage.

NCAA track star CeCe Telfer was a successful competitor in men’s track a year ago, but not quite in the top tier.
However this year competing with the women, he/she is one of the best.
CeCe is ranked third in the country in the hurdles and seventh in the 200 yard dash.
She/he runs track for Franklin Pierce University and will be heading to the NCAA Championships.
Last Sunday at Smith College she/he took home three Northeast 10 Conference titles scoring 31.5 of the schools 49.5 points.

This appears to be an unfair physical advantage. Perhaps they should allow the girls on the team to take steroids.

Nah, just strip him of his achievements, and disqualify the team.

This is rather stupid. If you are claiming that some women are better at sports then some men, you are obviously correct. However, if you take the best athletes from each sport, the man is going to win 100% of the time. Or, put another way, that sedentary guy isn't going to be on a NCAA team taking a spot away from the triathlete. It's going to be a fit trans that is taking the spot away from the fit woman.

Stay in the realm of reality if you could please!

Really? How many sedentary 5’3” ment have you seen compete in triatheletses much less against one? Sheesh.

Martina Navratilova can handle this debate

I compete at the 'tour master' level in WGT golf...Does that count?

How utterly predictable it is to see people who hate transgender people find an extremely rare issue where a trans person just might possibly maybe gain an advantage over their cis counterparts, and then proceed to freak out about this advantage.

But when it comes to the far bigger and far more common list of problems that trans women face--bullying, discrimination, suicide--what do we get from social conservatives? Deafening silence.

Have you considered posting a new thread?

Nah, just strip him of his achievements, and disqualify the team.

How about we just handicap him. Start him 10 yards back. If he is still able to beat the women he gets first.

Literally has nothing to do with what I said. But thanks for playing. :2wave:

You JUST wrote that ... my comment certainly applies to what you said.

You're whining that TS "bullying, discrimination, suicide" aren't being openly discussed ... yes?

So, open a thread. Simple fix.

No...Let women compete with women, Men with men, and Trans people with trans people....How about that....

Well, it didn't take long before the silly little word "transphobe" made an appearance. Soon all of us favouring ordinary fairness in sport will be called "Nazis" and "Alt-Right".

So the solution to trans not feeling accepted, personally, is to make women feel not accepted in their own safe space?

Please proceed. :)

I'm not the one whining about it. Perhaps you are you simply trolling out of frustration that folks are raising common sense objections to a ridiculous policy.

If you sincerely want to have discussions regarding the difficulties of TS life in today's society ... you'd open new a thread. Why not?

I think we can all live with 1 out of 1000000 titles someday going to a transgender person. No sport or person will be ruined.

Tell that to women's track team everywhere.

Liberals wanted this, have fun!
