    Is that you bowing out?

We're comparing it to any other scripted television show. Except wrestling does theirs live.

But the people who pretend that pro wrestling is an actual sport are ridiculous. Thereís no denying that.
But most adults do not. You are the only one claiming they do, in direct contradiction to all available evidence.

In other words, you're just repeating rhetoric which went out of style 20 years and trying to use it to sound informed, when it just sounds ignorant.

I ordered one of the early Wrestlemanias---early 90's maybe---Macho Man vs Hulk Hogan maybe---and the show went on for hours and hours.
Hogan vs. Savage was Wrestlemania 5, 1989.

My kids, who had begged me to order it, wandered off after a couple of hours.
I continued to watch in order to get my money's worth......hey.....$39.95 doesn't grow on trees, right?
You likely didn't pay $40 for Wrestlemania in 1989 (unless you got hosed by your TV provider). More likely it was the mid to late 90s if it was Hogan vs. Savage and was in WCW.

Say what you will about McMahon and WWE(F)...but you definitely get bang for the buck.
    100% correct.
Whatever happened to that nice Bobby (The Brain) Heenan?
He died a couple of years ago. He had a good long career as a manager and TV commentator and is in the Hall of Fame.

That is why I called it sports entertainment. A lot of athleticism and power in many of these artists. Just look at John Cena.

Isn't it now just 9.99 dollars per month? No more need to pay 40 dollars a pop for a PPV.

    LOL!

Aren't you just the funniest person in the world!? Seriously, the amount of cleverness it takes to drop into a thread about wrestling and call it "fake" is simply beyond the creativity of most people who never watch wrestling. Great post, absolutely stunning in its cleverness. Brilliant!

    Dusty Rhodes
    Bruno Sammartino
    Bob Backlund

Just naming a few who put wrestling on the map and made it a sport. Wrestling today is nothing but a overrated video game. It's fake and it will always be. The only thing I'll give credit is the large paychecks handed out.

Wrestling, as we're discussing, has never been a sport. All of those guys worked in scripted entertainment.

As opposed to nearly every other show on television? How come nobody criticizes Walking Dead or Family Guy as being fake?

    Your comment is absurd.

I watched both. The NXT show was great. The worst match was 3.5 stars or so. The main event, Dream/Riddle and the tag match where easily 4 + stars. Triple H understands the concept of simple storytelling. And I felt that there was a real effort made to really tell stories with the matches. Dream/Riddle especially, where Riddle kept destroying Dream but couldn't finish him, got progressively more frustrated, and then caught in a moment of carelessness was great.

WM has been too long for awhile now, and it is not getting better. Outside of the women's title match and BDB/Kofi, everything was mediocre to just plain bad. And after the cathartic Kofi win, you had the Mysterio squash(cuz he was hurt so couldn't really do a match), the Reigns/McIntyre match which was slow and kinda boring, the 25 minute HHH/Dave match where both ran out of gas after 10 minutes and just sucked the energy out of the building, the Angle retirement match that no one wanted to end that way, even if it is the traditional right ending(and I approve of going out on your back, but do that right before the Kofi win), the 5 minute Balor/Lashley match that did neither of them any favors, and by the time the women's match came along, 7 hours after the start of the show, no one had any energy left.

I have high hopes that when Vince finally lets Triple H take over, things will improve, but until then, this is just how WM is going to be, too long, and not real good. Too much of getting every one on the card, not enough giving the fans reasons to walk away happy.

I have never met one person who thinks it is not scripted. There are I am sure a few, but it is pretty rare.
