Nfl 2019

LOL exactly and football doesnt involve hitting a guy in his bare head with a helmet

hell be out the reminder of the seasons minimum, the precedent for actions like this is already set.
He'll now have the record for getting the max suspension of 6 games if not more and it going into next year

He's a good player. I don't want to see the Browns penalized over a misunderstanding. Remember, Mason Rudolph started it by trying to pull his helmet off first.

This incident definitely has people not talking about how bad the Steelers played last night.

No, no it doesn't. When was the last time a player ripped off a helmet and used it as a weapon against another player. Don't come back until you have an example.

I already posted a video of a defensive player stomping on another players head

They say that after someone is arrested for having 35 bodies buried in their crawlspace. "He always seemed like a good guy."

That's not exactly the same thing. If you can't tell the difference, you have no business in this conversation.

Hitler: "Yeah, sure he was responsible for millions of deaths, but he improved Germany's economy, so...!"

humor us: what's the difference?

Someone should tell them this is the NFL, not the NHL.

LOL right?
even then this is still way out of line and even in the NHL charges have been filled.

I saw on sports center Garrett already had two fines against him this year so he is gone for the season for sure if not some games next.

Garrett suspended for the year, including playoff, and indefinitely.

Ogunjobi suspended 1 game.

Pounsey suspended 3 games....
IMO I wouldn't doubt if this was reduced to 2 games.

Out for the year and probably 4-6 next year. I'm good with that call.

Since the injury to Big Ben I've refrained from participating in this thread because as a Steelers' fan I've felt their season would be a lost cause but I think Tomlin and his coaching staff have done a terrific job keeping the team focused and moving forward and back in the playoff hunt.

That said, I couldn't resist commenting on the end of last night's game. From a purely football game perspective, lots of respect to the Browns for playing a terrific, if sometimes dirty, game on defense and keeping the Steelers from ever really getting going on offense. Until the last couple of seconds, it was a perfect game for the Browns and could have potentially turned their season around. I'm doubtful that will be the case now.

As a Steelers' fan for half a century I know full well that AFC North divisional games are always tough contests - I'd say the toughest in football. The difference, however, is that games between the Ravens and Steelers are very tough and physical, but the Ravens and Steelers players respect each other and each team and generally play pretty clean games against each other. Games involving the Bengals, when Burfict was around, and the Browns lately, have been the exact opposite, in my view. Burfict with the Bengals, and to a lesser extent other Bengals, seemed to be focused not on winning the game so much as inflicting injury on Steelers' players and hurting them going forward and into the playoffs. Very much bad sports, unprofessional, dangerous, and a stain on the NFL's reputation. The league finally got its act together as it relates to Burfict and it can only be hoped that the league can get its act together related to this incident to avoid future issues.

Clearly, in my view, there was no legitimate rationale for Garrett to slam Rudolph into the turf well after Rudolph had thrown the ball and with basically no time left on the clock. The only reason can be a desire on Garrett's part to send a message to Rudolph for the rematch in two weeks. After all, the Steelers still stand in the way of the Browns in their pursuit of a playoff spot. I can pretty much accept that action, with an unsportsmanlike penalty in game applied and we all move on. But when Garrett compounded the move with his "assault" that changes everything. But let's not try to kid the troops here - there isn't a hope in hell that a Cleveland or Ohio prosecutor is going to seek assault charges against Garrett, not if they ever want to get reelected.

Penalties as announced this morning by the NFL seem about right to me - there would be absolutely no basis for a suspension against Rudolph although I could see a fine applied.

Seems i was spot on with my predictions

good im glad

Disgraceful

Garrett should be out for the rest of the year minimum
Pouncey has to get 2-3 games also based on zero tolerance

Carson Cunningham on Twitter: "This Mason Rudolph and Myles Garrett incident is insane. #Steelers #Browns… "

the ones on youtube probably wont last

Browns' Myles Garrett suspended indefinitely; Steelers' Maurkice Pouncey gets 3-game ban

Garrett is getting suspended for at least the rest of the season. Good. What he did has no place in the NFL.

Pouncey also gets three games.

humor us: what's the difference?

He's just trying to defend his argument that last night was the worst thing to happen in football. Hardly the case, I have seen a lot of bad things in football equal to what happened last night.

That mediocre dirty QB is also going to be fined for trying to yank Garrett's helmet off. He is not innocent. This will be the highlight of his career. No chance he's a starting QB next year.

It doesn't surprise me that you can't tell the difference either.

So, do you believe what Garrett did, even though he was clearly provoked worse than what former Redskins DL Albert Haynsworth did

Quit defending this. Garrett deserves his suspension. If you understand anything about football then you will understand this.

I'm not. I am just trying to find consistency in the rules.

A Ravens defender was choking out the Browns WR and didn't get suspended.

Both sides should bring charges. But the assault with a helmet is most egregious.

Yes you are. You're looking for any excuse you can find to condone ripping a player's helmet off and then hitting that player in the head with his own helmet.

From your inability to answer the question it appears you are the one Unable to point to the difference
