Nfl 2019

Garrett will be at home with Burfict watching the games on TV for the rest of the year.

Hell, he may get 1/2 of next year off too.

Thank god he didn’t club him with the other side of the hat.

What could a little quarterback have possibly done to enrage a giant like Myles?

This is football damnit.

Suspension? He deserves an extension. I like his fire.

It’s the Steelers. Everyone hates the Steelers.

...except when they play the Patriots :)

Doesn't matter what he did. Garrett is gone for quite awhile. It's going to be a very expensive swing of a helmet for Myles. During a game swinging with a fist will cost a player time off. Swinging a helmet at an unprotected head of another player? He's gone this year, at least. Pouncey will get a few games off too.

BTW these 2 teams play again in 2 weeks.

We can be sure BOTH teams will get nasty-grams from the league to behave, and I'm sure the Refs will be told to throw flags on every play if they have to to keep the teams in line. Someone looks funny at an opposing player will be gone.

Actually it will probably come down to how the Steelers react in 2 weeks. Not the Browns.

Trying to club someone in the head with a helmet isnt football. It ought to be a 10 game suspension- without pay.

two questions
1. what happened - if anything - which caused the guy to jack the helmet off of the opposing QB's head?
2. why the hell was the QB within reach after his helmet was pulled off?

Permanent ban from the game and he should be prosecuted.

This is trolling at its worst. This is the ugliest thing that has ever happened in professional sports and you're applauding it as "fire"? Absolutely despicable.

Anyone who has ever played football knows this is wrong. Garrett even admitted he was wrong. This wasn't "fire", this was assault. I hope the NFL bans Garrett for life and I hope the prosecutor files assault charges. This will be to the NFL what the "Malace at the Palace" was to the NBA.

Damn right. Police should arrest him for assault and whatever other things apply. This was a gratuitous act of sheer violence. He should not be on a football field again.
The use of a piece of equipment meant to protect football players from injury, was used as a weapon to grievously injure.
Did you see it connect? There was no padding between that hard helmet and the QB's skull! He needs to be put on concussion protocol.

It was assault, and it bordered on the serious felonious version of it: attempt to do great bodily harm.

Oh, it must have been terrible. Did Mason Rudolph go to the hospital? Is he in a coma?

Nonsense. This is far from the ugliest thing that has ever happened in sports. Albert Haynesworth stomped on another player's head and got a record contract from the Redskins the season after.

Yawn. Didn't a Ravens defensive player try to choke a Browns offensive player a few weeks ago?

Stop with the hyperbolic language. This kind of thing actually happens all the time.

Arrest? Give me a break. What about the Steelers lineman that was throwing haymakers and kicking the defenseless Browns defender?

Let's stop with the hyperbolic language. This is football, not ballet.

The NFL is fighting a losing battle against the stigma of CTE. Do you really think this is going to help if they don't have a zero-tolerance policy against gratuitous head injuries?
Any other assaults should be addressed and fully prosecuted, yes.

What happened last night wasn't "football", it was a clear case of assault. Get a ****ing clue for once in your life, seriously.

Newsflash, "assault" happens every football Sunday.

As a Steeler fan no I don't think he should be banned for life. suspension for 10-12 games. And told if he does ANYTHING close to that again, next time a fight breaks out he has to RUN the other way, if he doesn't then he's gone forever.

Anyway after seeing the video over and over, I can see 2 Browns getting time off, Obviously Garrett, and the other Browns lineman who pushed Rudolf from behind while the brawl was going on. He'll get 2 games, at least. That'll keep him out of the rematch in 2 weeks.

No, no it doesn't. When was the last time a player ripped off a helmet and used it as a weapon against another player. Don't come back until you have an example.

I'll just leave this here, you know, for the sake of brevity.

That rematch could be ugly lol

LOL exactly and football doesnt involve hitting a guy in his bare head with a helmet

hell be out the reminder of the seasons minimum, the precedent for actions like this is already set.
He'll now have the record for getting the max suspension of 6 games if not more and it going into next year
