Nfl 2019

Hell of a price to pay for nothing though. The Raiders basically gave away two draft picks to the Steelers for nothing. It's the second year in a row Gruden's team got fleeced.

They actually made money technically on the deal if I am not mistaken, Brown owes the team $200,000+ in fines. As for the picks I believe the Raiders will get compensatory ones, though I don't know the details.

Brown has taken the diva act to a whole new level and I think the team just realized that and I suspect that's why the players went to Gruden and said they support whatever action is taken. I don't think the players really wanted Brown on the team that badly after all the BS and questions they were getting. While Brown would have improved production for our other receivers I don't think there is going to that much of a loss in production especially in comparison to production last year. Carr has some speed to work with and some good solid receivers and I suspect he can make that work. The loss of Brown may be a blessing in disguise as teams may not double team any of our receivers. We shall see. I think we will break even on the win total this year at least, and with a little luck make the playoffs.

Tom Brady gets along with everyone from all backgrounds. Those from a street background - Randy Moss, Aaron Hernandez.... Those that came from more privileged backgrounds - Gronk, Welker, Edelman, etc...

Brady and AB both have an intense passion for the game and tremendous work ethic.

The Patriots and both AB have something in common: They are both misunderstood and hated by the media. They can make it work.

Where was the work ethic when he was with the Raiders? Misunderstood my ass. He is understood perfectly, a perfect jackass. Belicheck is the one AB has to please. Belicheck sure as hell isn't giving him a big time deal like he had with the Raiders, that is gone. Its one year prove it deals for him. He screwed himself out of a good deal. I am glad it was before the season started instead of the middle.

Canadajohn, buy a clue. White people are not a minority or a protected class. Stop equating the n-work with the word cracker.
It’s still a disparaging comment about one’s race
That deserves condemnation

1st as a Steelers fan... Lol... Lol... Lol..

2nd...lol..lol...lol...lol

3rd.. How dumb or F'ed up or both do you have to be to not at least play nice for a couple of weeks so you can get a paycheck.. In his case a millions paycheck..

4th. Brown’s agent will be the next to dump him..

5th.. Granted he's more talented than Kaepernick.. But they blackballed Kap.. I wonder if Brown will get a job. At least this year anyway..

Brown managed to screw everybody, including himself, which isn't easy. Takes talent.

Sadly for the Raiders, you don't get comp picks for players who are cut. Those are only for expired contracts, and the player has to sign with another team.

The AB experiment was worth a try. You have to take chances on opportunities like that. It'd be nice to have those draft picks back, but at least they were low rounds and you dodged $30 million in wasted cap space.

Wasn't his contract $50 million all together?

If he gets blackballed its all on him. He didn't even get to the fricken season before he went ape****, I suspect that will make people very leery of bringing him to their team.

The Kaepernick comparison noted above is very relevant, in my view. There are clearly far more quality receivers in the league than there are quality starting QBs. I can think of at least half a dozen, and a lot more, teams who would upgrade their talent at QB with Kaepernick even if it took a few months to get him back up to speed. Hard to imagine that there aren't a number of receiver options that would provide as much overall benefit to a team, without the gong show, than taking a flier on Brown suddenly finding sanity. And as noted by Pirate above, if Brown is given more than a one year bridge kind of deal, low salary and full of performance and behavior incentives, the GM who gives it to him should be immediately terminated.

Brown's a very talented receiver, but it's a team sport, and Brown is nothing without a team. The man needs a lesson in humility.

Everyone saw how the Raiders bent over backwards for the guy, and he cant say he didn't know he wasn't getting fined or going to lose the guarantees because of his shtick. If he performed on the field they probably would have gave him his money back. His agent had to have explained to Brown the Raiders were CYAing because he was acting the fool. His agent must be pissed.

Rosenhaus has to be mega pissed. With Brown being released and not getting a dime from the Raiders I'll bet Rosenhaus isn't going to get a dime either.

He lost out on millions too. That can't make him happy. And as been pointed out here IF, that's a big IF, if Brown gets another job this year it will not be anywhere near as rich as the one he just blew-up.

brown just signed with the patriots. lol.

If it turns out to be true that Brown is now a Patriot.......that will actually be pretty crazy.

I guess there was no blackballing. He signed with the Pats within hours of his release..

Threatening people and name calling and pissing on contacts is OK in N.E. I guess. They've had murderers on their team. I guess this stuff is minor.

Maybe Brown promised Kraft a Massage..

If true it sends a hell of a message to the rest of the players in the league.

The NFL thought it had discipline problems before? Just wait. Nfl might be heading into NBA territory.

he will thrive in the Patriots system. Brady must be giddy with Ab, Josh Gordon,

Good thing Brady won't be able to throw far enough to reach him. :)

brady has edelman, josh Gordon and d thomas to throw too.

quite a collection of talent. i love it.

He also has a noodle arm that no longer can hit the side of a barn.

Let's see if he lasts there long enough to to see the money from the Pats. He threw away $30 mil from the Raiders. This is 'only' $9 mil bonus from the Pats. If $30 wasn't enough, maybe $9 mil won't be enough either... Lol

It should be interesting to see if he can hang on there. Bill is even less of a take BS guy than Jon. But, let's face it. Raiders are a mess while the Pats are the premier franchise in the league.

And another thing that makes this even stranger. Brown posted a recording of a phone call he had with Gruden. If Gruden didn't know he was being taped that's against the law in California. Lol..

I wonder how pissed off Gruden and the Raiders are? Lol

Edit.. You are right. There's miles of difference between the Raiders and Pats. But he knew that going in. And he threw away a lot of money.

No surprise - the classless like to stick together - knowing the Cheatriots, maybe they promised Brown they'd sneak his illegal helmet into games for him too.

Also, considering it's the Cheatriots, wouldn't surprise me if they just signed him to see if he could feed them a little of the Steelers' old playbook prior to tomorrow night's game
