Nfl 2019

He may have had an injury of some sort, or they may have been concerned about him getting one in meaningless games.

I agree with Bucky on this. Nagy outsmarted himself thinking that because Trubisky did well last season he could sit out 99% of the preseason. There's no excuse for not using preseason games as a sort of preparation, especially when Game 1 of the regular season is a must win.

And there are supposed Broncos fans that bootlick the Patriots every chance they get...
As a kid that spent several years in Rhode Island, went to Patriots games I think its not inappropriate that I still pull for the Patriots, but am a Broncos 'fan' (and lets be honest...Im still a fan but they havent given ,anything to be overly excited about. BUT...still a fan).

And besides...its fun poking you and your incessant hatred. Thats part of the joy of sport.

I bet the Panthers would disagree withyou.

Preseason really is a bad deal for the teams and players (and the fans). The only people that benefit are the owners.

I think they should have several scrimmages but only one full on 'preseason' game.

Mitchell only played like 3 snaps, less than 42-year-old Tom Brady.

Matt Nagy is too inexperienced. He basically abused all the kickers on his roster. If I were one 20 kickers cut I would consider filing suit against the Chicago Bears for creating an unsafe work environment.

3 points @ home against a suspect Packers defense? The Bears haven't had a star QB since the 1930s. That's embarrassing.

There is no voice of reason on the Bears coaching staff. Where is the steady hand?

Wrong.

It gives a chance for players that would have no other opportunity to showcase their skill and ability to make an NFL roster.

Matt Nagy reminds me of a former Bears coach/player.

No, not Mike Ditka... Todd Haley.

It must be unsufferable for players having to listen to this egomaniac. They should fire him and insert Chuck Strong as the head coach.

LOL so a self appointed savior, out to defend another team's "virtue?" LMAO. Says a lot about you more than anything.

Players benefit from preseason snaps too. If you look at the past several seasons, most of the games in the first few weeks have been plain awful. Quality has suffered due to the CBA disallowing lots of full pads practice and coaches not willing to put their starters in on "meaningless games." There ought to be a rule that everyone on the team during training camp gets to play at least 25% of the snaps during preseason.

The Antonio Brown story is a non-story.

According to multiple reports, Brown and Mayock got into a heated argument during practice Wednesday in which Brown threatened to punch Mayock in the face. ESPN reported that Brown used “disparaging language” toward Mayock, which led to his possible suspension for Week 1.

A Raiders source told ESPN that Brown called Mayock a “cracker” and used a slew of “cuss words” toward the general manager. Pro Football Talk also reported the word “cracker” was used.

For goodness sakes. We are talking like someone actually got hurt!

AB is running scared.. I guess threatening to punch your GM in the face and the possibility of losing $30 mil scared him...lol

Report: Antonio Brown Gives Raiders 'Emotional Apology' After Mayock Incident..

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown reportedly issued an "emotional apology" during a team meeting Friday following his blowup with general manager Mike Mayock.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reported Raiders team captains are "standing with [Brown]" following the apology. The Pro Bowler's future with the Raiders appeared to be in doubt Thursday after he got into an altercation with Mayock after being fined for missing two team activities over frustration with the NFL banning his preferred helmet.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Raiders planned to suspend Brown, thus voiding the more than $30 million guaranteed on his contract. It was considered possible, if not likely, that he would never play a down with the team.

You have a lot of trouble with that whole reading comprehension thing.

My first 'team' was the Patriots. I remember watching the Pats Dolphins game when Jim Plunkett was the QB and it went on FOREVER. My 2nd 'team' was the Jacksonville Sharks...I was at the inaugural game and didnt miss a game the first season. When the NFL Jaguars came to town I was long gone from Jax..but I still root for the Jags. My third team was the Rams...but that was only because I supported my foster mother at the time and that was her team. My 4th team was the Seahawks, because while stationed at McChord I took my kids to see their first NFL games and the Seahawks were their teams so they were my team. My boys are still Seahawks fans...though one is on the west coast and one is living in my old town of Jacksonville. And for the last few decades Ive been a Broncos fan....because its my nearest team.

Oh...and I'm not a Cleveland fan...but I want to see them succeed solely for their fan base's sake. If anyone in the NFL deserves a SuperBowl...its the Browns fans.

And I like poking people that are obviously stuck in their weird hatred.

Asfor preseason...I think the biggest value of the pre season is that it gives teams a chance to work out scrubs and give them, a chance to make the team and to work out schemes. There is just too much potential for starters to suffer injury to make 4 preseason games worthwhile.

I think the best thing they can do is completely void the contract and give him a chance to resign for one year on a contract loaded with performance incentives. Let hm decide if he actually wants to be in the NFL or not.

Not sure why there's so much hate on the Bears regarding last night's game. Packers have a strong history of defeating the Bears in the past five or so years, often in Chicago.

Some observations on the game:

1 - way too many penalties - ruined the game and any momentum either of the offenses may have been able to produce otherwise.

2 - Trubisky wasn't really any worse than Rodgers was in that game - both were statistically poor - only difference was Rodgers had a 1 yard TD pass and Trubisky had an interception in the end zone to pretty much end the game.

3 - neither team's offense looks sufficiently strong, at this point in time, to be a serious contender for the division let alone go anywhere in the playoffs - Bears will have trouble recreating their statistical dominance on defense from last year and the Packer's defense last night, while limiting the Bears to 3 points, is better than last year but isn't going to scare any of their future opponents. Packers better get to that supposed new, great, offensive scheming I've been hearing about or they're in line for another bad year.

And it's fun seeing the Cheatriot's cheerleaders slagging the Bear's offense after last year's Super Bowl display. Sometimes games like this happen, particularly so to start the season. And home favourites have a fairly poor record covering the spread first game of the season, regardless how strong or weak they may have been the previous year.

Yep.. There's something going on with him... Either drugs, too many concussions, or he simply don't want to play in the NFL anymore.

If the Raiders don't suspend him and give him his money, in 2-3 weeks he'll be on the IR or suspended anyway and living large with their money. They should cut him loose right now and save the money.

As for those who love to slag Mike Tomlin, I'd just like to gloat a little - seems to me Tomlin pulled off the down right impossible keeping Brown under as much control as he did for the years he's been coaching the fool. And he kept his team together during all of it. Same goes for the leadership of Big Ben both on the field gameday and during the week between games. Looks like Tomlin and Roethlisberger just got tired of the show and had enough and facilitated Brown's meltdown and exit from the Steelers.

Not saying that Gruden and the Raider's management are likely to get any awards for being a model coach and franchise, but the way they've all imploded with just a few months of the Antonio show makes the Steelers coaching staff and management look awesome in comparison.

That would be great! Let New England sign him for the minimum contract.

Football is a violent game. That's why most contracts are avoidable and not fully guaranteed.

Players can tear acls during practice or training camp. You have no proof that the potential for serious injury increases during the preseason.

I'd actually support that move.

Belichick wouldn't touch him a 10 foot poll. He's a cancer. Yes N.E. has taken on projects before. But Brown gone above and beyond now. Threatening a GM?

Tomlin let Brown turn the Steelers into a circus. Now the Raiders... I don't see Belichick wanting that nonsense.

I have enough proof that I would not to risk my star players during 4 preseason games if I was a coach.

LOL Mitch Trubisky is not a star player. He is one of the bears biggest question marks. Then again, when did the Bears go into a season where the QB was not a question mark?

Antonio Brown learned this type of behavior as a Pittsburgh Steeler. The Steelers are like bad parents always allowing their kids to each junk food, watch TV late, not require them to do homework, etc.

The Patriots had a similar wild child in Rob Gronkowski. They kept him under check and unleashed his inner savage and helped him become a HOF TE.

At the end of the day though, the A-List Legacy franchise, the Patriots will beat the has-been franchise and defeat them soundly.
