Nfl 2019

Wonder how the Saints are going to break my heart today.

The so-called GOAT may have ended his time with the Pats by throwing a pick-six. The gods have a sense of humor.

They are going to win big today, they have to. They have a great QB, a great running back and a fantastic WR. They are good to go.

The Seahawks on the other hand are an unknown element as both their RB's are out for the count and their replacement has not really been active as a RB for quite some time.

The Vikings? Well, it can be good but it can also be TERRIBLE!!!!!

I am also not that confident about the Eagles. It might be Daddy Goldberg's favorite team. They are a very vulnerable team IMHO. The only thing that they have that is GREAT is 2 good TE's. Something Brady should have had this season IMO.

Seeing Brady in another uniform to end his career would be an odd way to go out. If it were me I would end it here and but who knows maybe has another SB in his future with a different team.
As a Colts fan, it was weird to see Manning in a different jersey. Part of the reason they let him go was so he could chase another ring.

I will always miss the Peyton vs. Brady arguments........... and they games they played.

The Manning brothers are class acts!

The gods had a sick sense of humor when they unleashed the evil trio of BB, Kraft, and Brady onto the league.

Brady will be back in 2020, and I think it will be with the Pat's.

But, I wish he would retire.

The last two "Peyton's Places" are a must see. One features Archie, Marino and Eli and the other is Brady.

LOL! I am still full from the ram from last year.
Sorry, Bucky, for having called you a loser. I didn't mean to imply that you are personally a loser. I meant it as sports banter, but anyway, I went too far and shouldn't have used this kind of language.

Now that the impact of it has passed, of course I acknowledge that the Pats had a great run and were a great team during it; maybe they will recover, given that the organization has a great coach and is able to develop other great players. And frankly, I always thought of Tom Brady as the GOAT, but couldn't resist making fun of the situation once his performance finally declined, which is natural, given the aging process. It doesn't make him not the GOAT. He will always be the GOAT until (if) someone else takes this informal title from him, which will be very difficult to accomplish.

Every time a team wins too much, it attracts attacks from fans of other teams that were victimized by it during its run of superiority, when it ends. It's human nature, but I could have expressed it in a tastier way.

Have a nice day!

I’ve watched my team win 6 SBs in the past 20 years. Watched them in London, Mass, New York and went to a SB myself as a fan. All good things come to an end and yes you can still get back in your box.

I don't remember if I called you a loser too; if I did, I extend to you the same apologies I sent to Bucky in my post above.

Hey....the Fish were playing some pretty good football in the second half of the season.

If they keep most of the players that they have right now, and pick up a decent rookie QB & RB, they stand to look pretty good next year. I hope they do,

I know, I was just teasing the Pats fans. It's interesting, I read something about it that made me think... apparently once the Dolphins were super bad and their season was lost, they may have started losing on purpose to position themselves to be high in the draft to pick Tagovailoa but when he got injured and the kind of injury which tends to recur cast doubts on his NFL career became clear, they started to play well again. Maybe baseless rumor but interesting.

I get the teasing. I'm one of the worst teasers on this site everyday. :2wave:

I'm not sure they will remember the Titans but they should remember Henry, the guy who 10 yarded nearly every frikn play! It shouldn't have taken so long to figure him out but evidently it did.

I think they are very aware of him. Aren't they trying to poach him from the Titans and sign him?

I think that's what Brady is chasing but if he puts on another jersey and doesn't get that ring its gonna be weird but I guess he has earned the right tondo what he wants.

Couple of great games today. That Saints Vikings game will be so tasty.

Brady is probably still better than some of the most horrible NFL starters so there would be teams interested in hiring him. But his steep decline in the second half of the season (when the Pats started to play against good teams which practically hadn't happened in the first half of the season) doesn't bode well for his performance in another team. People talk about his OL and receiving corps but it's not just that: Brady was wildly overthrowing or underthrowing in many occasions in the second half of the season even when not being pressured. I firmly believe he's not been the same, and that's natural; he is aging, after all.

I think he should have retired when he won the SB last year, still on top. It's sad to see such a great QB allowing his career to go down like this.

I didn't see a lot of ref errors in the Bills at Texans game. Did you? What kind?
Are you serious? You missed the free kick/illegal forward pass thing that they talked about for hours? The Bills kicked off, a Texans returner caught the ball in the end zone, and just hucked it toward an official. Shoulda been a safety, called as "giving himself up" despite the fact that such a method of "giving up" appears nowhere in the rule book.

He signaled a "fair catch."

He signaled a "fair catch."

He most certainly did not. A fair catch is a specific thing and has a definition in the NFL Rule Book:
A fair-catch signal is valid if it is made while the kick is in flight by a player who fully extends one arm above his helmet and waves it from side to side.

If he signaled anything, it was an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, though I'm not sure against whom he was calling it.

Well, good common sense prevailed and the Bill's score was cancelled. Sure, the player didn't use the correct method (kneeling down) but come on, regardless of the rule book, if that score had prevailed, it would have been a travesty. So the more senior officials did show some flexibility and did go contrary to the rule book but in tune with common sense. Everybody praised them for doing this. It just didn't seem right to allow that play to result in a score for the Bills. And I'm saying so, while rooting for the Bills.

It was pretty obvious he wasn't running it out or fumbled thinking about it. I'm not sure why this is even an issue. People don't always take a knee in those situations. Maybe the rule needs a rewrite.

BTW: I've seen plenty of fair catches called by waving arms, like the dude is doing a backwards butterfly stroke.

It's been over since last year, when they had to hang on for dear life to win their last Super Bowl against the Chargers.

This is not the same team that had a miracle comeback from 28-3 at 5.00 in the 3rd against Atlanta, that earned Brady the right to be in GOAT discussions. This is a team who's offense fell off a cliff big time last year, and has been carried almost entirely by its defense, and who's QB has been struggling to not overthrow the ball.

There's such a thing as 'Sudden Hearing Loss', where people loss dramatic levels of their hearing overnight without reason. IMHO, a similar thing tends to happen to these football teams in what I call 'Sudden Dynasty Loss', where the greatest of teams turn to **** overnight.

It's happened to the Pats.

The Patriots didn't beat the Chargers in the SB since both teams are in the AFC.

The Patriots finished 12-4, last year they finished 11-5. There is no decline.
