A gorilla is 10 to 15 times stronger than a man, even a man like Tyson could never deal with a silverback gorilla, that is just a no no. Good for the zoo to not allow that fight to take place because if the gorilla had clubbed Tyson on his shoulder his entire shoulder area would have been broken to a pulp.

Tyson was a strong boxer but too much violence in him (ear biting) and he has made some terrible decisions in his life/career.

Left, left, right, hook. And duck when they bounce. So easy. Tyson can punch out anything.

wow, that indeed is an ancient video game, wasn't it on Nintendo too? But seriously, rich people think they can do anything. I hope it was a publicity stunt because I would hope a sane person would realize that they are no match for a silverback.

Tyson is an idiot. I almost wish they'd let him have a go. Been entertaining for about 7 seconds....

While Tyson appears dumb as a rock in everything I've seen, even he could appreciate a CGI or other demonstration of the foolhardiness of his nonsense.

My Brother described a carnival he went to that would pay anyone $100, if they could stay up fighting
an orangutan with boxing gloves on that was trained to box.
He said guys tried, but no one succeeded.
Apes are VERY strong, a gorilla could likely rip the arm off of even a very strong man.

I have seen oranguatan's push around a part of a tree with relative ease that 4 full grown men could not move. The power in those limbs is immense and that orangutan was trained and not hitting full force. All great apes could quite easily (if they wanted) kill any human, even someone like Tyson.

I agree, the only thing that would matter, is if the gorilla were irritated enough to actually do something.

Yes, his last 7 seconds on this earth. Men do not stand a chance against a lot of bigger animals. Just think about a big red kangaroo, they are massive, if they kick you with their 2 back legs, you could be flying several feet through the air.

If Tyson wanted to fight it, you bet ya the gorilla would be irritated in next to no time.

And the gorilla's response would be quick, and very likely deadly.
Humans are simply not designed to take that kind of punishment.

Right turn Clyde!

I recall a short lived TV show back in the 2000s (I think) that pitted humans versus animals in various sports, and the one that stood out was sumo-wrestler versus orangutan in a tug of war over a pit of water.

The sumo guy looked much bigger, certainly had the intensity going. The orangutan looked bored the whole time, and just yanked the dude right in with one arm.

Mike Tyson isn't the sharpest guy out there, but I can't quite hate him. He's clearly got a decent sense of humor about himself, which to me is rare enough in celebrities to warrant a second look.

Check out Mike Tyson Mysteries, if you doubt. It's really quite funny, and totally based around the notion that Tyson is an idiot.

I had a buddy wrestle a bear at a sporting show years ago.
The bear had a muzzle on.
They had so many restrictions for my buddy to agree to that there was no way he could have won. For one, he couldn't put a head lock on the bear.

People loved it though and we had great time laughing about it on the way home.

I feel kind of bad for Mike. It was adult humans who taught him how to be so violent, and how to arrange his life around violence.

I had to look that up.

If you chained the Gorilla up and let have Mike Tyson have a free pop do you think he could KO the gorilla?

hell no, a full male silverback could not do that so one puny (though for human strength massively strong puncher) human would not even make him go to the ground.
