Green Bay Packers fire McCarthy!!!.

One of the best comparisons of Aaron Rodgers:

He's Jay Cutler but actually good.

LOL!!!

The Packers should hire Aaron Rodgers' "agent" Gabriel from the State Farm commercials. Rodgers needs a yes-man who will let him do whatever he wants, then who will readily take all the blame for Rodgers' poor play.

Green bay packers fire McCarthy!!!

WTF, if anything they should have benched the little whiny brat Rodgers, and put him in his place.

This will lead to the NFC North being a competition between Minnesota and Chicago for many years to come...

First i have seen this announced.

Pretty stunning.

This guy was hc of the Packers longer than Obama was president of the United States.

Or any other two-term president. What, are 13-year HCs somehow immune to being fired when they have a disaster season like the Packers have had?

Tom Landry was fired. Anyone can be.

Mike Tomlin next

I'll bet he is looking at a desk load of offers right now.

History has shown that firing coaches during the season doesnt really help. He should have been fired in the off-season.

I think the Packers did it right. After Sunday he was a lame duck and everyone knew it. Why keep him around if the decision has already been made?

My only problem with the firing is that it has the appearance that it was Rodgers decision.

I have always thought he was an egotistical asshole, and I am not just saying that as a Vikings fan.

I always grudgingly liked Brett, he was always fun to watch and I was excited as hell when be came to the Vikings,, I even went right out and bought a number four shirt.

I would never want Rodgers in Minnesota, and without McCarthy I believe you are going to see his play drop dramatically...

Rodgers may well be an egotistical asshole but he is also a first ballot HOFer with at least a few more years left in the tank. Guys like that don't come around very often so you better do whatever it takes to help them succeed when you have one. The offense under McCarthy never evolved as evidenced by the fact that no one else besides Rodgers could manage to win a game with it. Things have been on a downward trajectory for 2 seasons and appeared to only be getting worse. They just lost a MUST WIN game AT HOME to one of the worst teams in the league. What else did they really need to see?

Something had to give and since Rodgers just signed a new deal making him the highest paid player in the league for the next four years that decision kind of made itself.

But then it creates another lame duck with the interim head coach, so it doesnt really solve anything.

Sometimes teams give up before the current season is over, they dont care about it anymore, so they be one of the first to be in the market looking for a new coach trying to attract quality....every day they have the market to themselves is an advantage...all of the attention is on their job opening.

Whose fault is it that Green Bay had already given up on their season? I mean, the central division of the NFL is a division where any good team can excel.

I surely don't want another Lebron James type of situation where the coach has to OK everything through its star player.

Maybe the best way for GB to go is trade away Rodgers.

LOL! The Packers do not even have a owner. They are a non-profit corporation.

Essentially, Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre have no one that holds them accountable.

Jerry Jones keeps Jason Garrett accountable. Robert Kraft keeps Brady and Bill accountable. I am not so sure about the Packers.
