Game Six: Toronto 114 - Golden State 110 ..... Raptors won this game on the road!

Raptors win the Series 4 - 2 and their first NBA Championship!

Congratulations to Canada, to the Raptors and to their fans!

Great game. Thank you Leonard for making this a magical season in Toronto and sticking it to the doubters. Sweeping the Warriors in three straight on their home court - never done in a finals to any team, any time.

Lots of respect to the Warriors - truly were warriors throughout the series, making this one of the best NBA finals I've ever seen - great basketball, great display of skill and guts and will all around.

The Blues last night, and the Raptors tonight! The era of breaking championship droughts continues!

I'm not aware of any Greek players we have. We do have an African from Cameroon, and also Gasol who is Spanish.
There is one Canadian on the team (Boucher) but I have yet to see him in the actual lineup: Chris Boucher (basketball) - Wikipedia

Sorry - you're right, my mistake - was thinking of Gasol and misspoke - must have been thinking of the Greek Freak.

Oh please...the Raptors were very lucky that the GSW were decimated by injury and never started its normal or a full lineup. After losing Durant for the series, and then Klay (including in the pivotal 4th quarter) and Looney as a member of the walking wounded that it was even this close is a testament to the heart and talent of the GSW.

If the GSW meets them next year, with a full and healthy lineup, Clay, Steph, Kevin, Looney, etc. will make mincemeat of the great pretenders.

Excuses......excuses. I can tell you're American, you never give the other team any credit

Its absolutely crazy downtown right now. This is right downstairs from my condo building.
Smell of booze and marijuana is EVERYWHERE.

Looks like I'm not gonna get any sleep because of all the noise, so I might as well get drunk right now

boy how lucky were the raptors. kawhi made the luckiest shot in the world against the 76ers and the Warriors suffer 4 injuries in the finals.

raptors = lucky.

Report says Thompson torn ACL.

:(

Can I ask how many finals you have watched??
I'm 47 and I grew up in Indiana where basketball is king. I don't think I've missed watching the finals since 1982. The Lakers-Celtics run was spectacular but last night's game had it all.

That sucks. Next year is going to be a tough one for GS fans even if they resign Klay and KD sticks around. 2 of their 3 best players (and both top 25 in the league) out for most if not all of next season.

I think the finals are series so we can tell who can consistently bring their best game for many nights in a row,
including injuries, and other factors.
For this series the Raptors were the better team, and deserve congratulations!

Are you downtown right now, John??

No, I had my downtown celebration fun when I was younger and flooded out of Skydome after the Blue Jays beat the Phillies in the 1993 World Series. Downtown celebrations of this type are made for the young to enjoy and let loose and I hope they all had a great time and did it safely and respectfully. It was great fun in 1993 so I'm sure it's even more fun and exciting last night and today. Yesterday was a miserable day here in Toronto, rain all day, thunderstorms off and on, but still thousands of young people lined up to get into the various Jurassic Park "pens" for the game. And Jurassic Park viewing stations set up all over Canada and even one in Fred VanVleet's home town in Illinois so even though they didn't win it at home in game 5 they still had all their home fans rooting for them and fully enjoying the moment.

Every team in every sport needs some luck to win a championship that involves multiple elimination rounds. But maybe, just maybe, the Raptors were the more talented, better team, with the deeper bench and a staff of fitness/medical professionals who managed their players to ensure they were as healthy as possible and able to withstand the physical challenges of the playoff run. Maybe, the Warriors were older and more worn out from five straight years of extended seasons and less down time in the off season. And maybe, just maybe, Toronto's one superstar was more impactful in the series than the Warriors' two or three superstars.

And I'll remind you that before the series started you were calling for a Warriors' sweep knowing full well that Durant wasn't likely to play. And while Thompson was clearly injured and playing hurt, he didn't miss that much time in the series and even in game six, with him in the game for almost all of the first three quarters, the Warriors were trailing at home most of the game and only up by four when he went out.

Being a sore loser is maybe one of the worst looks a sports fan can have.

I think it helps the moral and spirit of a City and Provence, for their team to win something like this.
The Raptors earned every bit of this win!

One of the best benefits of last night's Raptors win is how Kawhi Leonard basically gave the San Antonio Spurs and their fans the finger and proved to them that their handling of this superstar was about the worst move a franchise can make. They bad mouthed him, misdiagnosed his injuries, and when Leonard went back to San Antonio this year they roundly booed him all game. Leonard, right now, is a top three player in the league and easily the number one two way player in the game today. Toronto was fortunate to be able to acquire him from a franchise that didn't deserve him.

All of us want desperately for him to resign with us at least for next year if not longer but if he chooses to go elsewhere, closer to home, we'll still love him here and when he returns with a new team he will get massive love from Raptors fans for what he accomplished this season.

With Durant going down and statistically not likely to return to pre-injury form, Kawhi is the best player in the league.
