No, it looks bad but he probably can come back to game 6. He truly earned his stripes tonight.

He’s not coming back for game 6 :doh

Congrats to the Warriors on their gutsy win - the Raptors lost the game rather than the Warriors won it. Would be nice if the Raptors could actually start a game being able to make a bucket and not always getting down early.

Raptors showed a lack of poise in the fourth after taking the lead - I believe the moment got just too big for many of them, but the fact they came back multiple times from multiple double digit deficits to take the lead in the fourth tells me they have the better talent and the ability to win it all, it just didn't happen at the key moment when so much was expected of them by millions of people here in Toronto and Canada. We'll see if this big moment defeat builds greater character going forward or affects them adversely.

As for the Durant issue - KD never should have been in uniform for last night's game - he was clearly not ready to play in such a high intensity game and he must have been under incredible pressure from the Warriors management and players to get back playing before he was ready. Seeing what Leonard went through in San Antonio, I can appreciate KD caving to that pressure of the moment and not being strong enough to do what was best for him. His free agency is in serious jeopardy now and that's on the Warriors.

No lead is safe with Steph and Klay having time left on the clock. I’ve seen them come back from 12 down in four minutes before.

I agree - and as I've said previously in this thread it will be very tough for the Raptors to lock down that final win although I do feel they are have been the better team in this series.

They've played well at Oracle and it may seem strange but I do believe they will feel less pressure to win on the road than they do at home. Their fans in Toronto and Canada want it so badly that the pressure is enormous here. They are carrying the weight of decades of Toronto sports failures on their shoulders and not just past Raptors' failures. It's a great fan base here that has suffered a lot of disappointments and loves this team a lot for giving them hope of ending the drought. Still won't be easy, but still confident they'll get it done. The city was ready to explode in joy last night, but a win on Thursday will be just as sweet.

Greetings, CanadaJohn. :2wave:

Very well said! I'll be rooting for them even though I've never seen them play!

Toronto will do what they always do. Whether it's the Leafs, the Raptors, the Blue Jays, the Argos..................

CHOKE.

Because of KD's injury there should be a suicide watch here in NY..

Besides his injury affecting the Championship Series, it's thrown a major curve-ball to a few teams Free Agency plans(mostly the Knicks). Even though he won't be playing next year KD's getting $31 mil from the Warriors...So does he Opt out like he planned on doing? Or sit home next year and collect the $31 mil? But if he does opt out will some other team still sign him to a max contract even though hes out next year?

Amen, no truer words have been spoken on this forum.

Why on earth would he opt out of a guaranteed $31M?

If his Achilles is ruptured, which is highly likely, he'll be lucky to come back in 18 months. He needs to take the Warriors money and also get them to resign him while he rehabs. They probably will.

Would you guys perhaps agree that Kevin Durant is GSW's achilles heel??

I'm here all night, people

He provided his team a spark and needed all of his points. He doesn't play, the series is over.

God working in mysterious ways, I am sure.

Durant gave his team a needed lift much in the way Willis Reed did to the Knicks in their legendary win. Too bad it ended for him like it did. I like Toronto both as a team and as a city but some of the fans were utterly classless in cheering of the Durant injury.

How about if someone tells him if you opt out we'll give you a 4 year $170 mil deal? And that's including his re-hab year. So it's basically a 3/4 year $170 mil deal...

Does KD say no...I'll take the $31 mil and then next year try free agency? Or does he take the big money now?

Or do the Warriors step up and offer him more money? That's my point, his injury throw a big curve at the FA market. Many teams are probably scrambling to find a Plan B...

Bill Russell was always perplexed by the Lakers' response to Reed in the famous 1970 injury game. Russell said he would have gone right at Reed to aggravate the injury and drive him out of the game.

Icing up Durant's calf already. Bad sign for the Warriors.
Posted at 9:27 PM last night; this must have been the first quarter.

Everyone knows you don't ice and then play. WTF were they thinking?

Well at this point in time, it would make sense for him to opt in for a cool 31M. Get surgery, do therapy for the next 300 days or so, then comeback for the playoffs(the warriors can certainly make it without him).

LOL @ taking the warriors money. The team is probably worth a billion more than it was 4 years ago just because of this dynasty run. The repeater tax isn't anything to scoff at, but the owners are probably making money hand over fist..and let's pretend for a moment that they aren't: they're all already billionaires who own these teams for fun.

Bill Russell was the ultimate WINNER. He did what he had to do to get his team on top.
