Re: Nba 2018-19

Looks like the Jimmy Butler trade to Miami fell through.

Re: Nba 2018-19

My favorite player ever, who is not named Michael Jeffery, chimes in on the Butler situation.

"I think both sides are a little delusional," Garnett said. "I think Jimmy thinks his worth is a little more than what it is. He's a very good player. I don't see him on the [Kevin Durant] and LeBron [James] level. But if they are A-plus, he's definitely A, A-minus.

"I don't know if he had the power to come out and force a trade like this. He can be disruptive, but I don't know if he actually had the clout to come out and do that. I don't know if Jimmy has enough juice to be that."

...

"Wigs, KAT, those are my guys," Garnett said. "I root for those guys."

Knicks waive Joakim Noah

Sources told ESPN that the 33-year-old Noah, who had two years remaining on his deal, had no traction on an open roster spot elsewhere in NBA and remained unwilling to agree to a buyout.

The Knicks can now spread the remaining $37.8 million balance of Noah's contract into smaller cap hits over the next three seasons.

Wow! There was a time, not too long ago, when Noah was a beast.

Re: Nba 2018-19

As a Hawks fan I'm just praying this season for Trae Young to start proving me wrong about the Luka trade being a big mistake.

And it'll be fun spending another season fantasizing about RJ Barret, Zion, or Nasir Little suiting up for them next year.

Re: Nba 2018-19

With the Cavs being LeBronLess, I need a team to give a crap about this year. I was hoping to get back into liking the T-wolves, but sheesh...with the Jimmy Butler mess, I don't see how that can be possible now.

If West Coast games didn't all start at 10:30, I'd probably follow the Lakers. But, that's just too late while I am in the East. And, I have no desire to spend another winter in Phoenix. So, maybe I'll just keep an eye on LBJ by reading box scores like I do with the NFL stuff.

Teams worth caring about:

Celtics
Raptors
Sixers
Cavs...Lottery team or mid-level average?

Thunder--will they finally contend?
Houston--I just don't like them.
Warriors--Liking them just ain't gonna happen.

Pacers are only 120 miles away--closer than Cleveland actually. So, maybe that is the team for me.

I would definitely root for the Denver Nuggets or Orlando Magic

You were/are absolutely right...and $hit 30k is letting lonzo ball off cheap.. Of course in a few years he will have several "baby mama's" that he will be paying money to.

Re: Nba 2018-19

According to Bill Simmons the Blazers will trade Damien Lillard to the Lakers for most likely Lonzo Ball.

IMO, LA should move mountains to bring in Kemba Walker. They won't. But, they should.

Re: Nba 2018-19

The Magic have a kid named Mohamed Bamba. Big athletic raw center and Jonathan Isaac.

I am dead serious. If they can get good guard play watch out.

lol..I heard a radio guy reference what I heard as Mobama. I thought he was making a funny.

Re: Nba 2018-19

No LeBron and Toronto stomps on Cleveland. The K Brothers, Lowry and Leonard, combined for 40 points so far. Love as a leading scorer just isn't going to cut it for the Cavs. Lottery team.

Yes, LeBron was that good.

Toronto has a good shot at challenging Boston.

Re: Nba 2018-19

Kemba scores 41 for the Hornets in a one point loss the the Bucks. Giannis and Milwaukee may be the team to watch, if they can get some solid coaching from the Atlanta guy. Speaking of ATL, the Bucks might be a team in need for a sharp shooter like Kyle Korver, who would probably enjoy a change in scenery and escape Cleveland right now.

Anthony Davis and the Pelicans ate up Houston. I'm not sure what happened there, except that AD went for 32 points and 16 boards with 8 dimes.

T-Wolves, clearly the most under-performing team in the NBA, given their talent, lost to the Spurs; a team for which the opposite is true. How the F can Jeff Teague be Minnesota's top scrorer in a losing effort? (looks at box score) Teague 27, Butler 23, Wiggens 20--so far so good-- Towns scores a measly 8 and fouls out after 22 min. Ah-ha! There's the problem. On the other side, DeRosen lights up the board with 28, and Aldridge drops 21. Now wonder Jimmy wants out.

At the bottoms: NY beat up on the Hawks and the Suns crushed the Mavs. Sheesh! The bad teams are going to be just horrible this year.

Re: Nba 2018-19

LeBron's Laker debut is tonight, in Portland @ 10:30 ET. lol...who makes these schedules?

Anyway, other than knowing I won't be watching, here are some actual predictions:

1. Lebron will have a solid season, but it will not be nearly enough to get LA past anyone meaningful.

2. Half the current LA roster will flip by end of February.

3. LeBron will probably get that MVP he was denied last year

4. Age will start to show itself beginning next year

5. It's LA; more free agents are on their way.

1. That is why he's there: Hollywood. But, for now, the best way to open that door is to "shut up and dribble."

2. "Half" may have been hyperbole on my part, but I see Ball, Rondo and McGee being gone. And, I'd list a few more, if I knew their names.

3. NBA MVP is a funny award. Rare is the guy getting it the guy who earned it that particular year. LeBron took a lottery team to four consecutive finals. Lost one because his two best guys were hurt, lost two more because the Warriors brought in Durant, after losing one to LeBron, and became a "Superteam" that no one could beat. But yet, during not one of those years did they give him the MVP.

4. I think age will show just enough this year to keep him from doing for the Lakers what he did for Cleveland.

5. So does Hollywood.

Nah. The MVP's is Stephen Curry's to win.
