2018-2019 NHL Hockey Thread

First goal of game 7 to Blues!

End of first period Blues leading 2-0. After game 6 I thought Boston would come out with the momentum. But I am pleasantly wrong. Go Blues.

Same score, end of two.

3-zip now....less than 7 minutes to go.

St Louis might do this!

Plus, the well known tendency for the Blues to fail spectacularly in the playoffs at precisely the right time.

We in Chicago are looking forward to seeing it- this new era without Hitchcock or Yao might be even more well known for brinksmanship disaster.

When’s the fail coming?

Bruins lose!!!!!

Blues have a great story, overcoming so much this season.

The entire country rejoices outside of Boston and Chicago. Exactly the way it should be.

With a performance like that in the 7th game the Blues definitely deserve the championship.
So happy for the boys.

I thought it would have been a closer game. But after years of being associated with hockey and even having a couple NHLers live with us at one time I am just lousy at predictions.

This was a great series.

Great victory for the Blues - couldn't be happier, except of course if the Leafs ever win again, and except if the Blues had been able to win it at home for their fans. The long NHL tradition of Leaf players leaving Toronto and winning a Stanley Cup with their new team now has two new members and I'm very happy for them as well. The hockey media in Toronto also continues it's long and sorry tradition of the player beatdown that toughens them up for success once they leave here.

Awesome win!!

As long as they keep Marner, (he and Matthews are probably my two favorite non-Blues), I have no doubt they’ll win a Cup sooner or later.

Having been around to witness the last Leafs' Stanley Cup win, I assure you I have plenty of doubt they'll ever win it again in my lifetime. It is, perhaps, the hardest trophy to win in all professional sports.

As I've said on this thread before, when I was young I was a big fan of the Blues, particularly Jacques Plante and Glenn Hall, secretly listened to their games on my portable transistor radio in bed late at night, and have carried that fandom late into life always hoping they'd get the chance to win and do it. I'm truly very happy for the team and their fans!

At Jacks NYB in (of all places).............. PHILADELPHIA!!!

Best part of last night, seeing this guy cry during the post game interview.

The Game felt a lot closer than the score. So many shots on goal by the Bruins with no payoff. The Blues were getting outshot almost 3 to 1 at one point...and had a 2 goal lead.

I'm glad it was a decisive game 7. It even helped my buddy from New Hampshire handle the loss a lot better than a close loss would have.

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger difference between what happened on the scoreboard and what happened on the rest of the ice than in the first period. Congrats to the Blues!

Marchy Baby missing his assignment on the goal at the end of the First was sweet. That was the back breaker, IMO.

This is funny. At least to me.

As a casual hockey fan that was a great series. Well done Blues.

Jenna Fischer is happy.

On to next year. Just watching some of Jack Hughes introduction. He could pass for 15. The Devils should be interesting with PK Subban.

Roberto Luongo announced his retirement. Third all time in wins.

So where is Mitch Marner going? Seems the Isles are interested.

New Jersey, like everyone else.

Srsly tho, NJ is going to be a ton of fun to watch for awhile, right up till the salary cap destroys them.
