LeBron Goes to...

The cap means nothing to Dan Gilbert. He's the quicken loans/fathead/I-own-half-of-both-downtown-cleveland-and-detroit guy.

But, yet, somehow he lost the world's greatest basketball player, twice.

Cleveland isn't wifey material. That's why LeBron kept signing 1-year deals.

Players do not commit long-term for a franchise like Cleveland.

Look at LeBron. He had a 3-year chat with Magic and decided to sign a 3-year contract with the Lakers and gave away free pizza to the people of LA.

Also, I do not think it is a Cavs problem. The Indians and Browns cannot attract the cream of the crop either.

The city is really that bad. During the recession that the city was a ghost town.

But when you compare Ohio with Los Angeles, there is no comparison. The only players that the Browns can attract long-term are literal drug addicts - Josh Gordon, JR Smith, etc...

Aren't you supposed to be a fan of the Rust Belt? Are you implying Cleveland is deplorable?

1. Ohio has an income tax.

2. The fans are quite deplorable. Cities like St. Louis, Green Bay, even Portland are more attractive for free agents than Cleveland.

I believe the Browns longest-tenured player is Josh Gordon. Think about it. He is a recovering addict.

1. Our tax is nothing compared to Cali
2. Cleveland actually has a rich history: Otto Graham, Jim Brown, LeBron, Bernie, Sandy, Barons

The LeBron LA thinks they're getting:

The LeBron they probably will get:

Nonsense. LeBron finally has ball handlers and playmakers around him.

LeBron has never played with a point guard that has the court vision/passing ability of Lonzo Ball/Rajon Rondo.

Brandon Ingram is a dynamic point-forward. Kuzma has a killer instinct.

LeBron can relax, do a couple movies like Space Jam 2. He is going to transition more in the post and let the young kids create.

Lebron is past his flying days. He's due for an injury, and he didn't go to LA to win. He went to LA to develop his post NBA career.

The Lakers are already the second-best team in the western conference. Do you have that much confidence the Warriors will win the finals 4 straight times?

Stephen Curry is more likely to break down than LeBron.

I think we can safely say the Cleveland Cavaliers can be described in one word: Anxiety. They were in a constant state of anxiety and LeBron wanted no part of buying into the Dan Gilbert program.

If I could compare. The Lakers are a younger version of Taylor Swift. This analogy was made by the Lakers GM:

The Cavaliers are more like Britney Spears....

Leonard to the Raptors. So much for that power team in LA.

Toronto Raptors agree on deal to acquire Kawhi Leonard in trade that involves DeMar DeRozan

Lebron and a bunch of kids. lol...he could have had that in Cleveland.

But then again, dude didn't move for basketball purposes. He went to Hollywood for the same reason all the young girls go--to be in the moo-veez.

LOL. He is still coming to LA, it just will be year 2.

I would rather have Kawhi next year with the young kids than trading for Kawhi and gutting the roster.

In two years, LeBron will be 36...and begin making plans to return to Cleveland for his goodbye tour.

He is already 17th on the list of all time most minutes played....we'll see....he is not in fact Superman.

The most obsessive fitness guy in my memory was Kobe. And, he ran into the injury bug in the age-timeline of Lebron right about now: mid-thirties.

Cleveland was a disaster. Too many distractions.

La represents youth and stability.

Let's compare: Dan Gilbert vs Jeanie Buss/Magic Johnson

No contest.

The Lakers have young talented hangry players. The Cavaliers had divas and too many untalented players that could only shoot 3's and not much else - JR Smith/Kyle Korver.

I guarantee you the Lakers do not go to four straight finals with Lebron.

This is true. Nobody took care of themselves like Kobe - but eventually the body can't keep up. Lebron, like Kobe, has been playing highly competitive bball for over 15 years. Throw in the regular season, playoff, finals etc and you start to become injury prone. LeBron is more of a physical beast, so maybe that mitigates some risk, but any way you look at it, the Lakers are rolling the dice.

It's a great financial gamble for sure. Full stadiums are guaranteed.

As for beating the Warriors--that ain't gonna happen unless someone pulls a few guys out of Oakland and puts one of them in Staples. Thompson, Dray, Durante; if LA and aging LeBron gets any of those guys along with Kawhi, they will have something.

You do realize Lonzo Ball is the best passer in the NBA and BI is an emerging superstar?
