Greatest QB's

People putting Rodgers above Brady legitimately need to go to a doctor.
In fave anyone putting Rodgers above Manning, Brady, Elway and Montana need putting down

I look at it this way

If I had one game to win, who would I want behind center....

No other factors....

Put the same line, same receivers, same backs, same coaches....and who could win you that game MOST of the time....figuring they are all in prime of career

It is a close call, but my answer is

1. Brady
2. Elway
3. Montana

I only put Montana below Elway because he had the major advantage of throwing to Jerry Rice....

Dan Fouts
T Bradshaw
Bernie Kozar

I look at the clutch factor and brady has been money in the 4th quarter.

In the same week that Roethlisberger was throwing himself a talk-radio pity party, Tom Brady told an audience at something called the Milken Institute Global Conference that he's no longer feeling the love from the Patriots organization.

"I plead the fifth!" Brady replied when asked if he felt appreciated by his employers. That was meant as a joke—try pleading the fifth when your spouse asks you your feelings and see what a big laugh you get—so Brady then offered a deeper perspective on the burden of being Brady. "I think everybody in general wants to be appreciated more in their professional life," he said, adding that the Patriots are "trying to treat me in the way they feel is going to get the best out of me."

Poor underappreciated Tom Brady. Just months ago, his documentary-filmmaker buddy was chronicling his transfiguration into an immortal warrior prince. One little hiccup at the Super Bowl, and suddenly he sounds like he's at the beginning of a long rant that ends with him screaming, "Why, coach, why?" while punching a cushion and sobbing.

What a princess.

In all honesty you can't really compare Modern day quarterbacks to 20 , 30 years ago..

Do you think Brady ( who is today's greatest) would have had his success with the likes of Dick Butkus, Mean Joe Green ( and that era of playing rules)

Montana may have won a couple more SB if he played in today's rules.

The game is so much different than 20, 30 years ago.

I think you can only compare within generations. Too much change for a fair comparison. Rules, way the game is changed, diet, salary (now a year round job) etc.

You are right. Linemen can hold now, QB's can't get hit, receivers only hit once... I'll go with the Sports Illustrated cover headline when Unitas died, "The best there ever was."

Defensive schemes today are far more nuanced and advanced than before.

Montana could not have beaten the 2001 ravens, 2014 seahawks or 2015 broncos.

Bull. The best at any time would be the best in the future as well. You think if Montana was raised today he would lose? No. He would be raised and winning in the more nuanced systems.

Easy to win when you have the GOAT WR.

Without a doubt Brady, and he has the jewelry to prove the point.

Of course the liberasl will pick Colin Karpernick as number one on their list

Great, the thread is barely out of the gates and someone makes it into something political, wonderful.

Sorry, but only fools choose the best QB's on the basis of the political views.

Sid Luckman is the GOAT QB. He practically pioneered the position. Prior to him QBs were used like fullbacks.

Favre

267 consecutive starts (321 with playoffs)
Most career completions, attempts, passing TDs...
First to pass for 500 touchdowns, 70,000 yards, and attempt 10,000 passes.

And he beat the Patriots in SB XXXI

Not sure how he could be the greatest QB when he's only third-best on the Packers.
