Oh please. Trade one of the best receivers in the league because he might have smoked a joint and was at a party where people were doing cocaine? That's just silliness. Don't listen to dailynews for sports reporting. That article is one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen. Actually suggesting that his contract would go from 60 mil guaranteed to 20 mil guaranteed cause he was caught partying, lol. Beckham has crazy talent and is an electric player that puts butts in seats. If they want to trade him I'd take him on the saints in a heart beat.

If he has never tested positive before then it would just be a fine. It takes multiple violations after counseling to be suspended and the fines and other punishments are even less severe with marijuana.

Then drug test him then. If you honestly think that only a few nfl players smoke weed your out of your mind. Tons of athletes smoke weed. For partying of course but also for inflamation.

Smoking pot again, correct me if I am wrong is still a federal crime and illegal. Given that OBJ is an employee, he is subject to a drug test.

I heard former HOF Cris Carter say OBJ is already in the system.

Is it a must or directive that if people screw up, employers must fire them and society must abandon and shun them? If you get popped for a DUI, should you be fired for the DUI?

So assuming he was smoking a blunt AND doing coke. Why does that mean someone has to be fired?
 
I saw the video and it was too grainy and unclear to see exact details. I'll admit there aren't many other ways to use a credit card in such a way than cutting cocaine, but he wasn't the one cutting it or even having anything to do with it. And the "blunt" in his hand could've just been a B&M. Not very likely, but I think he has plenty of plausible deniability if the video alone is to be used against him.

But in any case, he should've smashed that camera like it was a placekicker's net. How stupid it was to let himself get filmed in such a way. And how ****ty it was for that slimy camera operator to post it online.

Do they? I'll be honest...I know of plenty of people that manage to keep their jobs following a drug arrest or DUI, including military folks. So you are saying there is no room for helping people when they slip up?

Union member Lineman...I know for a fact they have kept their job in the face of arrests for drug use. Cant speak to the teacher side. The question is why should they be fired? The consequence will come from the law side. double penalize them?

Employers are not responsible for enforcing stupid laws. If there is no safety issue for others, or in the case of athletics, no unfair advantage obtained, then employers (and everyone else) need to turn loose of their pearls and mind their own ****in' business.
