[W:549] Nfl 2018

I expect this Super Bowl to be a very good one actually. I think it will go to overtime. Remember the Rams can light up the scoreboard. The question is can the Pats keep up? I say in SB yes they can.

One thing people didn't comment as much, is that the Pats offensive line played very well today. Brady was very rarely pressured. If they repeat this performance, the Rams can light up the scoreboard, but so can Tom Brady (with time to throw the ball, he is almost infallible), and when push comes to shove, it's Brady's experience versus Goff's inexperience.

Not to forget, the Pats' defense shut out the very prolific Chiefs offense for an entire half of the game. Sure, they did score 31 points in second half, but it was in great part thanks to Mahomes, and Goff is good, but not as good as Mahomes.

Rams defense is a bit better. The question for the Pats are there any matchups besides Gronk that can be made.

If they can do it against the guy that can do 50 touchdowns in the regular season, then they can do it in the Superbowl.

Exactly, Mahomes was great throughout the season. Of course, being young and inexperienced, he was nervous and put too much pepper in some balls, overthrowing a few times today, but still managed a great comeback, down 14 at halftime, and leading his team to score 31 points in second half.

Goff is not as good as Mahomes.

All the talk that Tom Brady was the underdog...

It's ridiculous. Tom Brady is never the underdog.

It reminds me of the Panthers vs. Broncos Super Bowl. Everybody was impressed with the young MVP Cam Newton, and the Panthers had been rather perfect during the season while the Broncos were banged up, with an ageing quarterback full of spine problems and chronic pain, that was almost a shadow of his old self...

Still, it's hard to call Peyton Manning the underdog, and Cam Newton and the Panthers learned this lesson the hard way.

Tom Brady the underdog? Maybe when he's 45 years old, LOL.

That was stressful and it’s nearly 4am herebut that’s not stopping me and the wife from having one more drink! Insane stuff today from both teams but i genuinely think that’s Brady’s best win.

And I feel that the commercials have been declining in quality, and halftime has not been turning my crank for years.......

Half time shows, never really my thing. During half time I'm using the bathroom, getting refills of food and beer, and not paying attention to some lame and noisy band.
There were a few good shows several years ago... but lately it's been crap.

And yes, the commercials haven't been as good.

Wasn’t sacked once

Yes, the thing is, if Brady is not pressured, even if his receivers drop balls, with three attempts he will end up finding a solution and one of those attempts will connect for big yardage. We saw it over and over today. People screwed up, but then Brady still got perfect balls into their hands that they couldn't drop even if they tried.

The only way to beat Brady is to pressure him relentlessly, and the Chiefs didn't do it at all.

Two very good games today.

agreed. But feel horrible for the Saints. There are bad calls all the time, but to be robbed of a chance to play in the Super Bowl has to be devastating.

Donald will but I like our D vs Goff.

It doesn't get any clearer, in terms of pass interference. It's mind boggling that it wasn't called.

We could have had a Brees vs. Brady Super Bowl.

If he keeps playing like this, who knows, he may still be playing at 45 LOL

Well, it's getting late. Good night everybody. It was good to be able to talk about the games a little over here, since I'm travelling, and watching from a hotel room, far from my football-loving buddies.

Everyone talks about Brady or Gronk but the real heroes of that team is that offensive line. They give Brady so much protection in the box. I don't even know if they have to send Brady's uniform to the laundry after a game.

It is not that late, for me it has already gone past 5am, that's late. Well maybe I should rather say it is very very early here LOL

Two Conference Championship games...Two overtimes....Here's to hoping the Super Bowl is at least as 1/2 as entertaining as these two games were. At least it's in a dome so weather won't be a factor.

Tonight: Brady.

Season? Maybe the same.

If he wins the Superbowl, it is Brady. One of the rookies of this season IMHO is Sony Michel. That guy is a beast on the field, I mean he can run like the wind and smash through lines.

Yes, Sony Michel, Nick Chubb (Cleveland) and Todd Gurley all went to Georgia.

Not really sure how stable Sony Michel's knee is though. I can see him being really productive his first 3-7 years and then declining really fast. Kind of reminds me of DeMarco Murray.

The three headed monster that is the Patriots running back bunch could be a big problem for the Rams, who are not the best against the run and a more talented lot they will likely not face that often.

Nope, the Rams outplayed the Saints. You are @ home, start with a 13-0 lead, you contain the Rams vaunted run game, win the coin toss in ot.

Saints imo didn't play a bad game, however the Rams simply outplayed them.

Nope. Sorry. The ref's cost the Saint's that game. It's more than obvious. The nation seems to agree with me this morning. Even the VP of NFL Officiating called the Saints to apologize for the blown call. There were two ref's on top of that. Neither blew the call. That is VERY suspicious.

LA played hard, I'll give you that. But the Saint's played harder and if not for the ref's would be headed to the super bowl. But it is what it is. Case closed.

There are some very difficult calls where you look at the replay over and over and just got to guess whether a body part touched or not. But that missed call was huge.

I would think the refs would be following the ball and the hit was delivered so much before the ball arrived that it would be obvious. There weren't any other players around that immediate area to block the view.

There just isn't any explanation how that all happened.

That will haunt the Saint's players and fans for years.
