Re: Nfl 2018
How much legal business do you think will be drawn off from the bookmakers?
True, TV viewership is down which may affect TV ads. But maybe the market will change to other forms of profit-making from other platforms. See, now professional sports gambling is being authorized. This alone will be a huge bonus for the NFL, and people who weren't interested in certain games will now watch because they have a bet going.
I'm not so sure that the league will be any less profitable resulting in smaller player contracts.
Like someone here said, a mid-tier franchise, the Panthers, just got bought cash for a record-breaking number, by none other than a savvy hedge fund founder and investor. Something tells me that he thinks he'll make a bundle.
