Phins goin' all the way.

Re: Nfl 2018

I'm just hoping the Patriots finally dump Brady... last season was abysmal.

Re: Nfl 2018

It looks like Richard Sherman will be cut today.

I really hope the Patriots call him.

Me too, for two reasons:

1. He deserves to go to a high-quality team.

2. He won't play as well for any other team. Kick step, Hawk tackle, how to (and how not to) challenge the LoS, etc. etc. are all aspects of the DB coaching that multiple former Seahawk DBs say are not prioritized anywhere else in the league. Sherm will be another Byron Maxwell; he excelled under Carroll's system, mostly because of Carroll's system, and won't live up to the hype under any other coaching style. :)

Re: Nfl 2018

It's interesting to see the Hawks go full rebuild. I felt like we were overcommitting on defensive salaries for a while, and burning money on Free Agents that don't fit into our system well... looks like team management finally got to where I was over a year ago. I have no idea what to expect this year. I just hope it includes some performance in the O-line area while keeping our focus on a young aggressive defense.

I'm excited to see how the new programs look after they're implemented!

Sherman is a HOF CB. To suggest otherwise poppycock.

Re: Nfl 2018

Browns give up a decent draft pick for Tyrod Taylor?

What the hell are the Browns thinking? They suppose to be going after a franchise QB, that's not Taylor. So they got Taylor to be what? A back-up, they gave up a 3rd round( 1st pick of the 3rd round so basically a 2nd round pick) pick and pay him millions while they have the 1st and 4th pick in the draft? Does this mean they may NOT draft or go the FA route for a QB?

Browns being the Browns I guess.

You're right of course. But a man's gotta have hope!

Playing devil's advocate (i.e. assuming the Browns actually have a good plan this time), I can see wanting a mediocre veteran for a promising young QB to develop behind for a year or so. That'd be a much better idea than throwing Kizner or some other rook to the wolves straight away. If they're planning to give Kizner another chance from the bench, having TT means they can spend high picks on other badly needed offensive positions instead. But I'm assuming a lot.

Sherman to the Whiners. Wow.

which QB in this draft is a franchise QB? they should choose the best player. who happens to be a running back

Now that's nonsense.

You can draft good running backs in the 3rd and 4th round. Unless you know for sure Barkley is a HOF type running back, pass.

Nothing stays the same forever.

I will miss Sherman. Just as I miss Marshawn. Heck, I still miss Steve Largent.

We have no idea what kind of team the Seahawks will be this year. The offensive protection of the QB can only get better.

Re: Nfl 2018

I like what the Browns are doing so far.

DeShone Kizer was a bad draft pick by the previous regime. They dump him for a CB and get a decent QB in Taylor. I would have only given up a 4th for Taylor but a 3rd is not a blatant overpay.

Jarvis Landry was a steal. They cannot rely heavily on Josh Gordon who is a recovering drug addict.

The Browns would have had trouble attracting free agents so getting Jarvis Landry, Damarious Randall, and Tyrod Taylor gives that franchise some legitimacy. I certainly believe they will win at least 1 game next year.

Seahawks have made the mistake the Patriots rarely do not.

You trade a player 1-year early than 1-year too late.

The Seahawks should have traded Sherman last year. They would have gotten at least a 2nd round pick for him. Bennett as well.

Yes because you predicted his injury. Is there a point when you stop making **** up? Ever?

Re: Nfl 2018

Well, the Lions have a new coach after a winning season. So now our GM and Head Coach are former Patriots. I won't say I'm overjoyed, just a little intrigued.

Re: Nfl 2018

49ers have Sherman on Defense, Jimmy G on offense and tons of money to spend on cap space. NFC West is about to be loaded.

it's not called monday morning quarterbacking for nothing

So, why then did they not trade away Tom Brady instead of Jimmy G?

Giving up a 3rd for a mediocre veteran is too much, especially if he's just a placeholder for a #1 pick. But then again, it's the Browns, so nothing surprises me about what they do anymore.

Re: Nfl 2018

Jarvis Landry was a steal.

If the Phins let him hit free agency, they get nothing and the Browns pay less. Is a good slot receiver worth #3 pay? He's not a top ten receiver.
