[W:549] Nfl 2018

Re: Nfl 2018

I think the Sea Chickens got a real steal with Griffin, that boy has a motor on him, I think he will eventually wind up at Strong Safety, but Carol wants to start him at the Will backer position first. He is really good from looking at his tape.

It's impossible to measure heart. But it's clearly something that is a factor. It's like porn. Hard to define, but easy to spot. Seattle prides itself on signing players with a major chip. I suggest to you, no one currently in the league (possibly ever) could possibly have the chip SG does. It's almost impossible to root against this kid. And let's remember, his brother Shaq refused to take a scholarship unless they gave one to his twin.

That is some kind of character and integrity. Hard not to root for them.

Re: Nfl 2018

True dat. Everyone is knocking the Raiders draft this year. I smell what Gruden is cooking and I think he is on the right track. Football starts and ends in the trenches. Win the trenches win the game. I think they did pretty good in the draft so long as most of the picks work out.

I hate da raiders. That hate goes back to the AFC days as rivals. That said, Carr is a stud. And so is Gruden. Certain people talk out of their ass. All the time. Guess who?

Re: Nfl 2018

Bull****. He is as good as any of the best in the league and will be in the HOF if he remains upright. Mark my words his name will be mentioned in the same breath as Starbauch, Montana, Marino, Manning and Brady or Brees.

How many playoff games has Derek Carr won?

Gruden won a SB with Tony Dungy's players. Guy leaves the NFL for 10 years. The league has evolved. His style of footbal wont lead the Raiders to a SB.

How many playoff games has Jimmy G won? How many has Sam Bradford won? How many has Goff or Wentz won? How many has Zak won?

I don't hear you ragging on them? Oh wait, you're just trolling.

You are spewing complete bull****. As usual.

It helps his cause though that he has plenty of great measurables, you have to admit. He is going to be a good player, the only real question is how good.

So he isn't elite right now. Thank you.

FYI you can say the same thing about Blake Bortles. Boy that kid looked great last year.

Who are you writing about?

Derek Carr isn't an elite qb. Maybe one day.

FYI I never said Blake Bortles, Jimmy G, or Carson Wentz are elite either.

Let's wait before these qb's accomplish something before we anoint them, kings. These QB's are so young their breath still smells like similac

First of all the quote you responded to was about Griffin to another poster.Second I didn't say Derrick Carr was an elite QB I just disputed he wasn't a star QB which he is. He is not some slub off the bench.

You're the same guy that claims Russell Wilson isn't elite. Who are you kidding?

You sound like the homer Cowboy fans that were ready to put Dak Prescott into the HOF.

I don't want to hear Derek Carr and HOF in the same sentence. Win a damn playoff game first.

Re: Nfl 2018

News flash:

Former Pats defensive coordinator and now new Lions HC Matt Patricia was indicted back in 1996 for aggravated sexual assault. Why am I not surprised?

Re: Nfl 2018

Oh, I started a thread to ask this question, not noticing this one here, which is probably the best place to ask it. Sorry for the duplicate, I won't delete that thread because maybe the question will be more visible there and I'll collect some answers that way, but here goes a copy of the question, for the people who post here on this thread:

------------

There are two issues I like to discuss: politics and American football. This message board fulfills the first hobby. However I imagine that this sub-forum here about Sports Talk won't fulfill the second one, once the season starts, because most likely the frequency of comments here will be low, given that this is not the main focus of Debate Politics.

Would you make a recommendation of a message board that is active enough to provide a lively discussion during games, like people following the full NFL Sunday on NFL Red Zone and/or DirecTV and following a College Football Saturday and simultaneously posting comments about the play-by-play developments during the games?

I'm seeking a board that provides an active discussion of the whole thing; not just those that gather the fans of a particular team.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

----------

By the way, my "most likely the frequency of comments here will be low", maybe it is not the case and this sub-forum will provide what I'm seeking. Is it the case? Do discussions here become rather frequent during NFL and college game days?

Re: Nfl 2018

I still cannot believe my Eagles won last year. My 30+ years of drought has come to an end.

I think the Rams are poised to take it all in 2018-19. They look really solid.

SBNation.com | Sports news, video, live coverage, community gets close.

NFL Menu -> <Select Team Name>

Each team has a sub-forum (Seahawks = fieldgulls, Cowboys = bloggingtheboys, etc). Aside from pretty good analytics posts throughout the year, they usually post an "open game thread" on game day (actually 4 threads, one per quarter) where people can comment on the play-by-play during the game. Each thread is only for one game, so it's not an "active discussion of the whole thing" per se. And there's usually very little talk about college games, but it does seem pretty close to what you're looking for.

The patriots will always be in the discussion. When you the that goat at qb, nothing is impossible for him.
