Let's just hope she's WAY better than Danica Patrick was....

And mediocre is still better than plenty of others who were/are not even mediocre.

I'm not saying otherwise. It's just that some people here want to put her in a class of racer she clearly doesn't belong. If I had a race team and only cared about sponsorship she'd be a consideration. If I cared about winning she'd be nowhere near the conversation.

Her best finish in Sprint Cup points at the end of the season is 24th place, which is higher than 15-20 male drivers that season. She has finished in the top 10 of races multiple times though.

She was obviously not a top tier driver threatening to win the Sprint Cup, but she seemed to at least be one of the top 40 drivers based on her finishes. So it seems like she deserved to be there.

Her best finish was 24th. Her average finish was far lower. Do you happen to remember the names of those 15-20 she bested or if they are still around? Patrick was at best mediocre. Mediocre typically doesn't last 190 races.

There's a handful of guys who finished behind her in 2016 that are still running. Paul Menard, Aric Almirola, and David Ragan. A veritable who's who of stock car acing.

If the driver is pulling in sponsorship money for the team and for the sport, they'll last quite a long time.

Let's remember that racing is business first, winning second.

Danica brought sponsors, money, and fans that otherwise might never have been a part of NASCAR.

I know the names of hardly any NASCAR drivers. But it looks like several of the ones finishing behind her are still racing. Ragan, Almirola, Menard, McDowell, Soresnson, Stenhouse Jr., Bayne, Whitt. I don't know whether those are good drivers, or mediocre, or what, but they all finished behind her in a season in which they drove in every race and all are still racing in NASCAR's Monster Energy top league.

Danica crashed out of the Daytona 500.....which sure is a fitting way for this loser to leave.

"This part is over now, I hope you remember me as a great driver, and I was a girl and it was cool to watch me."
