"March Madness" -- 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

Villanova Champions, and well deserved.

Greetings, Jack. :2wave:

I look for historical events that happened on certain dates, and this is what I learned about April 1, 1985.

"Villanova, a school that finished fourth in their own Conference, defeats Patrick Ewing and the mighty Georgetown Hoyas to win the NCAA Basketball Tournament in the most famous upset in college hoop's history. Villanova's feat has yet to be replicated, and an eighth-seeded team has only reached the Finals once since."

They won today, April 2, so the historical record will now be updated! :applaud

I mentioned this bit of history to my son and his buddy several days ago when they were doing some carpentry work for me, and they are both a bit wealthier today since they had Michigan winning and changed their bets! Yahoo! :lamo

Greetings, Polgara.:2wave:

Nice work on the betting advice. I remember that 1985 game. If they played ten times, Georgetown would have won nine -- they were that much better. But if Villanova played perfectly and the ball bounced their way a couple of times they could win, and that's what happened.

Go Big East.

BTW Philly is off to a pretty good start to 2018... The Eagles win the SB. Villanova wins the NCAA tournament.

Who's next? 76'ers?
