From Fox News:

Outspoken figure skater Ashley Wagner was not chosen to represent the United States at the Pyeongchang Olympics next month just hours after ripping into the judges’ scores at the U.S. National Championships.

…Wagner, who won a bronze medal in Sochi, said she felt she should have been selected to the Olympic team Friday night.

"I honestly think that at the end of the day, this is how I feel, and I feel like I need to stick up for myself, and I think that I delivered when I really needed to," Wagner said Friday night. "I think all these girls delivered when they needed to, but I want to be on that Olympic team and I'm really mad that I'm in this position again."

What a painful lesson...but a useful one, I hope.

Just cause I'm not sure, what is the lesson? Know your place? Don't question the authority?

I'm really just curious, I don't know if she was rightfully pissed.

Agreed. The only lesson I'm seeing here is "talk ****, get hit." I can swallow the practical value of learning about getting stomped on for dissenting from authority, but I fail to see the moral lesson here.

You know I took note the other day when I read that she quit in the middle of an important skate in Nov because she had she said a sore on her foot.

Maybe she was not hungry enough..... then she could not make up her mind what program she wanted to skate here....bad signs for sure.

I dont know that the judges scored her low, but they sure had reasons to do it if we were intending to send our best.

Plus she is 26, super old for the sport.

Maybe she can go away.

OH WAIT, she is going.

Not be a sore loser?

If you are going to choose to do the same thing over and over and if you expect to impress then you damn well better be getting better at it.

Know when it is time to walk away.

Admit to yourself that someone may be better at something than you are.

It’s okay to be competitive, and nobody ever said you had to enjoy losing, but it’s important to keep things in perspective. Winning and losing are just very small parts of the whole experience.

There's nothing wrong with being a loser, it just depends how good you are at it.

Win with humility and lose with grace.

That makes more sense than her getting kicked over a disagreement with a judge.
