Vince McMahon is thinking about bringing back the XFL

Vince McMahon might have a better chance recruiting players right out of high school to go into his new professional league. Tap into the players that are too young to go into the NFL per their own rules, but don’t really want to go to college and would jump at the chance to earn a paycheck playing football. Try to make it a de facto professional minor league for top talent, take over college football. Even that would be an extreme long shot, but it would have a better chance of succeeding than trying to overtake the NFL.

If McMahon intends the XFL to have the same smashmouth style of football that the original version had, one that emphasizes hard hits and body checks over penalties, all the XFL is going to do is remind people why the NFL introduced those rules in the first place.

If it were my league, I would go the opposite route and play without helmets to reduce head injuries. I’m thinking Vince McMahon might be thinking along those same lines, but probably not without helmets, even though that would be best for reducing head injuries.
