The 2018 Major Leage Baseball Thread

Some are in the Midwest.
East coasters are still watching the BoSox replay...if they're awake.

Machado now has a further name for himself.
I guess.....I really don't like the guy.....probably because he's in a Dodger uniform.

Brewers are for real.

Brewers lose a tough one tonight. However, they still have the home field advantage. Though that edge hasn't been much help in this series.

It was a smart play.
Hah....dumb play.
Machado was already out.
He wasn't going to achieve anything aside from a self-inflicted faceplant.
Now that would have been pretty funny.

Reminded me of Arod and the "i'll do anything to win" mentality.
Are you accusing Manny of taking PEDs like Aroid?

Nope. A lot of great players cross the line. Dennis Rodman, ali, woods, pete rose, etc...

Also, I have been watching baseball for a while. Imo the onus is on the 1basemen to move his leg. He left his leg on the bag way too long.

Dodgers found the right time to get their groove on.

Astros were robbed!

That was a home run!!! How can you call that an out!!!

CRAZY! That hit the fan's glove, right at him!!!

That was not fan interference imo. What is the fan supposed to do when the ball is hit right at him/her?

They rob the Astros of 2 runs. At worse that should be a double, but an out?

Dodgers aren't even playing that well and they still gnaw at the underbelly of the Brewers vaunted bullpen. You need to knock out a champion not just beat them, sissy boys. Brewers want to whine them to death.

The fan is supposed to not interfere.

As I understand it, the fans can interfere with the ball if the ball is IN the stands.
Chubby Joe West ruled that the ball was still on the field.
Judgement call, no use crying.
There is no crying in baseball.;)

So if a player is IN the stands fans are suppose to move over? If those are the rules MLB shouldn’t let fans sit there. They didn’t reach over the fence. @MLB

Even Justin Verlander's wife got it right:

Gary Sheffield on the MLB postgame show:

"This is the most egregious play in the history of baseball."

I ask once again, what is the fan suppose to do in that situation? Leave his seat?

An awesome game! Really great defensive plays!
Agreed.

Although this game will be shrouded in controversy. Joe West does not even know the rules of the game:

Joe knows the rules and made a judgement call.
The replay angles weren't conclusive so West's call stands.

Replay angels weren't conclusive? I beg to differ on that.

Also, if it was fan interference, by the letter of the rules, shouldn't that fan have been escorted out of the stadium? The fan was only given a warning thus it wasn't fan interference.

BS? What is the point of having replay? These umpires are stupid!!!

A truly terrible call by an ump who is treated far too much like a god.

That ball was gone. HR.

More accurately, it is not considered interference in the stands. The ball clearly left the field.

A judgement call, yes, but a horrible one. I don't think the umpire did remember the rule.

I'm no fan of West but he probably got the call right. That 1 fan was leaning with his 1 hand on the fence and REACHED over the fence with his other hand. It was interference.

Is she really that meaty? Man, that sure beats the anorexic stick figures who usually grace the pages of fashion magazines.

I love this descriptor......"meaty".
Yes, she is that "meaty".
