Boston is the better team, but Yanks showed heart and almost came back.

The Yankees are a slave to their ballpark, which BTW is a joke. It's a Little League Park. Anyway they went out and got Stanton. They put up with Sanchez, they broke the HR record this year, and on and on. They lived and died with the 3 run HR. Problem is in the playoffs they face better pitching and the HR's don't come as easily as they come all year long.

They can't manufacture runs, they strike out a lot. Astros and Sox were at the bottom in striking out, Yanks were in the top 10. AND the Yanks don't have an ace.

The Astros and Sox can score in a multitude of ways, and they both have aces. The Yankees do/have neither.

The Yankees would be crazy to go out and spend a zillion $'s on Harper and/or Machado. They don't need more HR hitters, they need starters.. They need starters that are consistent and can keep them in 3-2 playoff games because in those games the Yank position players are facing better pitchers and aren't hitting HR's.

Unfortunately, Brian Cashman is a good GM however he will never give up the farm for a frontline pitcher.

Jacob Degrom would cost the Yankees Torres, Frazier and probably another top prospect. Cashman would never do a trade like that.

Patrick Corbin is a fa but I would not be comfortable giving 30 million to a pitcher that isn't a dominant ace.

In the AL it is definitely the 2 best teams in the league in the playoff.

In the NL, probably the 2 teams that finished the best.

They struck out in crucial situations. Their *stars* did nothing. Their pitching sucked. Besides that they were awesome.

Not on paper. In fact, the Brewers are better on paper. They both have potent lineups and the Brewers have better pitching. On paper. But the Dodgers know how to win and are one Yu Darvish start short of being ws champions. You don't just beat a champion you have to knock them out.

I generally avoid predicting sports, but I don't see the Dodgers as markedly superior to the Brewers.

Dodgers are certainly the favorite. But, since the Dodgers are not the Cardinals, I like the Brew Crew's chances.

I have seen nothing in the Dodgers' play, last season or this season, to indicate they are champions. I have seen nothing to indicate they cannot be, either. But I don't think they have an edge in intangibles.

They were NL champions - at minimum. The dodgers are mostly the same team with the exception of pitching. However, they've added Walker Buhler and put Maeda in the bullpen. They also have Ryu and have subtracted Darvish.

They absolutely have an edge in intangibles. They've been there.

And lost. The Brewers have players who have won a WS.

I'm not too concerned with the NLCS playoff picture. The next World Champion will be either Houston or Boston, with Boston having to be the clear favorite. The ALCS will probably go 7. The World Series will be lucky to go 5.

I can't wait to sup on their bitter tears.

As stated, I avoid predictions. I think any one of the four remaining teams could win the WS.

I expect it'll be one of the AL teams. If forced to choose I'd say Boston.

I think Houston is the best all around team left. BUT Boston has had a magical year, and they have home field. So who knows?

As for the NL? I'm pulling for the Brewers but if Ryu and Kershaw pitch like they have been, they will be tough to beat.

Let's have a frank discussion. Kershaw has come up short in the playoffs. If he delivered in the playoffs, the Dodgers would have won 2 ws in the past 5 years.

I don't disagree. He's treated like he walks on water but I think he's well past his peak. He should separate from the Dodgers after the season.

Having said that, he's still capable of pulling off amazing performances. We'll see.

Hyun-Jin Ryu > Clayton Kershaw.

If I were the Yankees I would sign Ryu over Kershaw, Happ, and Sabathia.

Plus he will be cheaper.
