Wow, you would figure thats been done a lot more in history then just 6 pitchers

Dodgers are at .500 and this season hasn't even started yet. I welcome the sweet embrace of mediocrity and look forward to a 52-8 run after the all star game.

That's what happens when hittiers try to be pitchers. lol

Seriously it was a failed experiment from the beginning. Can't do both, not in today's game. Too many games, too much travel, too much wear and tear.

Also Tanaka hits in NL game against the Mets, now he's out for over a month. I hate the DH, but these AL pitchers never hit, not in c0llege, not in the minors, not in the majors, so to expect them to all of a sudden know what to do when they hit in an NL park isn't fair.

IDK what the answer is, but I see changes coming.

Abolish the DH.

Abolish the DH.

Good luck with that. Unless the owners are willing to go up tp a 27-28 man roster the Players Union would never agree to abolish the DH. And the owners are never going to want to pay two or three more players Major League money. So it ain't going to happen

It will also decrease the offense by quite a bit

I am surprised the Mariners have the 4th best record in MLB. I do not see them keeping pace, especially with Robinson Cano injured. I saw the rules, and Cano is eligible to comeback in August, but not eligible for the postseason. That is somewhat odd. Cano could literally help lead the Mariners back to the playoffs and be forced to sit in the playoffs!

IMO they should trade for Adam Jones, and plug him at CF.

#METOO, I did not go to a single game last year but Me Thinks I should this year.

That badly needed that Japanese kid. I hear he has a serious elbow injury that will prevent him to pitch, but he can still hit.

Yankees look like they are on the verge of becoming a dynasty.

Gleybar Torres - rookie
Andujar - rookie
Frazier - rookie
Luis Severino - 24
Aaron Judge - 26

If those young starting pitchers they brought up pan out. Watch out.

On this day in baseball:

Did he die? If so, R.I.P. NIMBY. Dang.

Appreciate the thoughts. I kept up during my eighty one days off. You get my first post back.

The theory of threes is certainly governing my thoughts. 3 strikes, 3 outs, 9 fielders; 3s have changed the NBA forever.

It may take - 3 years before - either of our - teams can compete ...

Baseball season starts too early. It should start early to mid May and end at the end of August.

Why aren’t HBPs counted in the WHIP, since they score? Considering some of the counts, HBPs can definitely play mind games. I think Tampa Bay is on to something, for them. A reliever once through the order and then a starter for 3 or 4 innings skirts the 5-inning requirement for a win.

The four day weekend series to start the season went off well. These Tuesday night Wednesday afternoon inter-league two-game series with Monday and Thursday off need to end.

Your Nats got hurt in mid-May with 4 days off and a suspended game, then got swept 3 games in the next 2 days by the now surging Dodgers; then they lost Hellickson and Strasburg.

Matchups and when you play them — your O’s beating the Braves twice in a row this weekend and the Braves’ reliever Viz on the DL. Phillies have starters.

The pitch count is way up, obviously, with the # of BBs and Ks. I’m seeing pitchers hit the corners more, plus name pitchers getting the calls. Stressful innings, indeed stressful batters, are taking their toll on starters.

I almost get the feeling that ‘The Man‘ has a beeper in home plate’s ear for the K-zone ...
