Kneel for the anthem and get benched

Forfeit the game and dock all the players pay for 1 game.

No, they would still get paid, they have contracts.

Scary that so many people have zero disregard for the freedoms we have, and instead, they fetish a piece of cloth or a song.

What an odd and delusional suggestion.

Why not go the next step and have them executed?

People are just itching for a dictatorship here.

The libertarian part of me wants to protest this, because everyone should have the right to say or do what they want, at the same time, the conservative part of me says "why protest with the same liberals who wouldn't do anything for James Damore's right to free speech at Google?" So, I'll pass on this issue.

If a player is suspended for a game they typically are not paid for that game

If they are suspended, it is for an actual rule that is part of their NFLPA contract.

Standing for the anthem is a rule. If they want to enforce it they can both fine and suspend the player. They can also take away draft picks from the team. The league has the authority to make them stand.

Show me where it says in the NFLPA contract about what players must do during the national anthem.

You think the nflpa contracts gives players immunity from following league rules. Is this a joke

Where in the NFL rulebook does it say you must stand during the anthem?

Here’s what the game operations manual says regarding the national anthem, according to an NFL spokesperson:

"The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses."

Please produce the rule that says you can't kneel during the anthem.

You copied a quote from a spokesperson, not an actual written rule. Also from your own link there's things like "should follow" and "may be penalized". So there isnt anything official.
It says may be penalized. Meaning if they don't follow the rule it's at the leagues discretion if they want to penalize them. What I said orginally is that the nfl has the authority to penalize players for not standing

Your original quote states that players must follow league rules, yet there is no rule which states they must stand during the anthem.

Should and May are very very different from Will and Must.

Do you have any legal experience with contracts?
