Speaking at a political rally in Huntsville, Alabama, Trump said: "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now. Out. He's fired! He's fired!"

"The only thing you could do better," Trump said, "is if you see it, even if it's just one player, leave the stadium. I guarantee things will stop. Things will stop. Just pick up and leave. Pick up and leave. Not the same game anymore, anyway."

Trump went on to say referees are "ruining the game" by calling 15-yard penalties for "beautiful" tackles. He also said that NFL ratings are down "massively, massively" because people prefer watching him. NFL ratings dropped eight percent in 2016 compared to 2015.

Yeah that makes sense, you pay $50+ each for a ticket and walk out because one player takes a knee. I would love to see that as well. NFL makes money and some snowflake walks out after spending money on a ticket. Go for it Bucky, start a trend. :lamo

Um, he swore an oath to preserve, defend and protect the Constitution. The 1st Am. is what defines us as Americans. And the NFL owners have black-balled a player for exercising his 1st Am. rights but protect the careers of drug abusers, animal abusers, drunk drivers, drug users, child abusers, rapists, and abuse of a wife or girl friend and promotes the use of drugs to keep players on the field knowing that they are endangering their health of the players and ruining the lives of their families.

Damn right! Trump has a right to be upset. America should follow his example of patriotism. Look at the number of times he has sacrificed to serve his country. He volunteered to serve in the military how many times, I forget. Help me out with that Bucky. Trump also served in Vietnam for several tours. Right? He loves his country so much he even volunteered to ship over. Again I forget how many times. No sir, you couldn't hold that sumbitch back.

Following his personal sacrifice in military service Trump also stepped up and did a lot for America ...I forget what exactly, but I know that when they played the national anthem Trump always put his hand over his heart and stood up, right. After all that is really the only thing that counts. Right?

I think if asked Trump would gladly stand up and lead America in singing the national anthem. OK, so he may not know the words or what they mean exactly but goddammit he would stand up and place his hand over his heart. Everything else is, you know, asking a bit much. :2usflag:

I am on record here like a year ago arguing that the real problem is this story getting told about brain injury, which I tend to believe has been massively oversold but see victim culture keeps getting worse so we believe stuff now we would not used to believe, and we a lot of us feel morally responsible to not participate in harm being done and so being a participant by the way of being a spectator or owning eyeballs sold by the adman makes us feel queasy.

So we stop.



EDIT: It was more like a theory supported with facts than an outright claim of truth.

Huntsville proper is moderately intelligent. Literally rocket scientists, etc, live there. Huge engineering town. Then you have the outskirts of Huntsville. It's pretty bad. Couldn't be much more red if you paid them in Skoal and Budweiser.

Yeah, I know. Back in the mid 90's my girlfriend who was in the Nashville symphony drove down to Huntsville once a month to play violin for the handful of cultured folks down there. I went with a few times. It was the first time in my life when I began to notice that I was underachieving as a young engineer. I changed jobs within a year, and began working for a high tech (at the time) robotics company.

In fact, that experience played a part in me changing jobs here recently when I realized I was no longer working on cutting edge technology. Even though it took me a little longer to realize it this time around, mostly due to the golden handcuffs of high pay and a low stress job, I stepped back into a high tech industry in order to nip that "underachieving" thing in the bud.

Not all conservatives are redneck and stupid, but most redneck and stupid people certainly are conservative. It's one reason smart people shy away from conservatism.
