Pres Trump criticizes NFL player protest , says fans should exit stadiums[W:101]**

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Not all conservatives are redneck and stupid, but most redneck and stupid people certainly are conservative. It's one reason smart people shy away from conservatism.

You understand of course that a lot of conservatives are just as sure that lefties are a stupid as you think conservatives are, it's the biggest reason you all can't sit down and hash out your differences like adults choosing instead to keep fighting in the gutters as America rots.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

I don't take my lead from Trump, but I do agree with many of his ideas.

On this particular issue, the pouting, pontification, tattooed street thugs that populate the sidelines and benches of our pro sports are a disgrace.

They are virtually illiterate in many cases and are poor role models with bad judgement and inflated self impressions. When they retire, with rare exception, they will forgotten in a matter of minutes.

I have been an NFL Fan(atic) since my father told me I was a Vikings fan in 1961. Since that time, my passion has been red hot to warm, but always a passion.

Since that A-hole Colin K and the legion of other tattooed street thugs who protest their blessings by their in-my-face stupidity, not so much. I don't even much care if my team of choice, either the Colts or the Vikes, has a similar A-hole on their roster. They are being painted with a broad brush.

I don't know if I'll even watch a game tomorrow. In previous years, that would not even be a consideration.

Now, it is.

When Trump recognizes a trend, there are those who think he's trying to set the trend. Not always the case.

Hard part about freedom of speech is that sometimes its speech you don't agree with.

But reading you having to call people names because they are using their rights as Americans to protest is pretty sad....especially when you have to hide behind certain adjectives that show what you really are saying.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Why was he even bringing up Kaepernick's name at a political rally in Alabama?

Oh, never mind. I know the answer.

Hey, where are Kaepernick's birth records?

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Hey, where are Kaepernick's birth records?

Exactly.

Trump incites a white crowd, in Alabama, to get angry at a black man exercising his constitutional rights.

Nah... nothing white supremacist about that at all.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Bucky now:

President Donald Trump speaks out against NFL player protests

Trump is 100% correct. Fans that find the behavior of these players disrespectful should walk out.

Bucky a few months ago:

Shannon Sharpe agrees that Colin Kaepernick is this generation's Muhammad Ali | FOX Sports

I applaud Colin Kaepernick for standing up for his beliefs and rights, even though it is costing him employment in the NFL. In many ways, he needs to be praised when many other high-profile athletes remain silient on the issue.

More red meat to throw out to the morons.

Yep, because everything is a federal government problem or at least is said to require a federal government solution. If one has a beef with a state/city police action then address that - don't pretend that all of America is flawed. Morons and bigots abound and some are even employed at the state/local level yet that problem is not likely to be solved at the national level.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Go back to school. You clearly have no idea what the 1A protects.

No, hate speech is not protected if it does not turn into violence, but often it does. And speech that could incite a riot, threats, "fighting words," etc, are all exceptions to 1A.

So, technically, Donald Trump does have 1A rights, but they were not protected during his campaign rallies, when he incited violence.

As far as the Nazis and Klansmen in Charlottesville - did you think the guy who plowed his car into a crowd was just exercising his right to free speech? Or was he an outlier? Asking for a friend.

And who cares if lefties criticized Klansmen for marching? You are more pissed at those who are upset about the march, than what the Klansmen were actually marching for. That's rich.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Oh...so it's Trump's fault that "mindless twat leftists" do stuff? If Antifa beats people, spits on them, douses them with urine, break things, set fires (these are all typical Antifa actions)...it's Trump's fault?

Read what is written...not what you want to hear.

The 1A doesn't protect against hate speech, or speech that could incite a riot.

Guess what happens when you start letting people define ‘hate speech’.

I did. You are the one accusing Trump of stirring **** up when all he is doing is expressing his opinion.

It's not his fault others are so hateful of his opinion they'll commit violence in response.

I don't begrudge them their freedom to express their disgust.

You and they should not begrudge me mine.

I find it difficult to understand the nature of the abuses raining down on a jackass enjoying an income of $39 million dollars per year to play a game that he enjoys playing.

Trump is stirring up **** needlessly and the others are all too eager to jump into the cesspool.

Arent you even a little bit tired of all the bull****?

Me?

No. His "bull****" doesn't bother me anymore than that of the Mainstream Media, their talking potato heads, the Democrats or the GOP Elites.

I didnt say HIS bull****. I said THE bull****. All of it.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Can you show an example of when the NFL protected the career of a player did those things?

I think you're quite able to come up with them. It's really very easy. Just google.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

What's refreshing about Trump is that when he speaks in these rally-type setting it feels like he's speaking to you directly in your living room.

He doesn't speak in political-speak.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Um, he swore an oath to preserve, defend and protect the Constitution. The 1st Am. is what defines us as Americans. And the NFL owners have black-balled a player for exercising his 1st Am. rights but protect the careers of drug abusers, animal abusers, drunk drivers, drug users, child abusers, rapists, and abuse of a wife or girl friend and promotes the use of drugs to keep players on the field knowing that they are endangering their health of the players and ruining the lives of their families.

Can't make that part of America any "greater!"

You are the one making the claim. I guess that settles that.

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

I am on record here like a year ago arguing that the real problem is this story getting told about brain injury, which I tend to believe has been massively oversold but see victim culture keeps getting worse so we believe stuff now we would not used to believe, and we a lot of us feel morally responsible to not participate in harm being done and so being a participant by the way of being a spectator or owning eyeballs sold by the adman makes us feel queasy.

So we stop.

EDIT: It was more like a theory supported with facts than an outright claim of truth.

So the BC study of what, 111 brains of former players that yielded an over 90% positive result for CTE is flawed. Given time to think about it, you feel that large, fast, muscular men running into each other at full speed and inertia is good for the human body? How many times has your body gone from full speed to a dead stop in an instant?

Huntsville proper is moderately intelligent. Literally rocket scientists, etc, live there. Huge engineering town. Then you have the outskirts of Huntsville. It's pretty bad. Couldn't be much more red if you paid them in Skoal and Budweiser.

But the "Rocket men" ain't from 'round heah, ya know what I mean?

Congratulation to you! In my short stay here I have always found your posts and viewpoints as a beacon of reason and sanity in a hurricane storm of differing positions!

Re: President Donald Trump criticizes NFL player protests, says fans should exit stad

Yeah that makes sense, you pay $50+ each for a ticket and walk out because one player takes a knee. I would love to see that as well. NFL makes money and some snowflake walks out after spending money on a ticket. Go for it Bucky, start a trend. :lamo

The real issue here is that the next ticket will not be purchased.

The next game will not be watched.

The next Super Bowl ad buy will not be made.

There is a growing number of people who are more than a little miffed by the antics of the well compensated morons that are convinced that everyone is as anxious to hear their wisdom as those that they pay to listen.

Who was black balled? No pun intended.
