NBA 2017-18 Season

They should trade Tristan Thompson and JR Smith.

I would considering trading them both to the Bucks for Joel Anthony and John Henson.

I want Giannis the Greek Freak Antetokounmpo

The Cavs could be in trouble. This roster looks very dysfunctional. Thomas is still crying about being traded. JR Smith is mad he is being benched for Lebron's friend. They filmed the Cavs lockeroom on the Kardashians...

This roster looks like it was constructed on NBA2k.

So? I don't really care about the Cavs all that much. If they play well, I'll watch. If they suck, I'll just read about it.

So? You still don't say it.

He gave the Cavs and their fans some great moments.

If the Cavs have any class they will retire his number. If Zydrunas Ilgauskas' had his number retired, Irving certainly deserves a place in the Cavs Hall of Fame.

Don't they usually wait until a player, you know, retires before retiring his number? Hell, that's probably 15 years away.

He's 100% right.

Cleveland isn't a sports city. Patriots, Red Sox, Celtic fans are extremely loyal and passionate.

The apparently permanent ineptitude of the Browns has hurt Cleveland. I remember when it was as vibrant as any other sports town.

Greetings, Jack. :2wave:

Cleveland is quite vibrant twice a year, once during baseball season with our Indians, then again during basketball season with LeBron and the Cavs. We need to relax sometime, although we all tend to make an awful lot of very passionately noisy shouts when Ohio State is playing. ..

Rust Belt city which was once extremely vibrant but has suffered greatly for the past few decades. Ohio's most vibrant city today is Cincinnati with Columbus not too far behind. The old industrial cities up North are all in decline. Akron, Youngstown, Cleveland, Toledo...all have their work cut out for them. Even Dayton is doing better than those places, mostly because we have the Air Force Base here and a lot of defense related work as a result.

We had a good couple of days in Cleveland not long ago on our spring road trip. Rock and Roll HoF and theatre district.

The city isn't completely dead. It's just following the same trajectory as all the cities along the lower Great Lakes, from Detroit to Buffalo on up to Rochester.

I still can't figure out why Toronto never had that happen. Montreal certainly did, but I always blamed that on the language thing.

I figure thee Cavs will win the Eastern Conference. But, which of the top two team in the EC won the off-season?

So who won the offseason?
Despite the additions of Irving and Hayward, RPM projections peg the Celtics for only an expected 44 wins -- nine fewer than last season. The Cavaliers are projected for 51 to 52 wins, but that's under the assumption that Thomas plays about half the season. Even if he's unable to return, though, the Cavs drop only to about 50 wins. On paper, and barring injuries, the edge goes to Cleveland.

Why the Cleveland Cavaliers won the Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas trade

Cavs.

Oh, Man. This is horrible!

Gordon Hayward absolutely horrific leg injury five minutes into tonight's big game.

And the Celtics season is done, well looks like another trip to the finals for the Cavs

Not done, but seriously hindered. They need to find plan B, quick. I doubt Hayward comes back any sooner than 18 months. That injury is nasty.

Nothing is official left. No official diagnosis has been made and he could make it back on the court soon. Let's wait until he gets evaluated from a doctor.

"Brad Stevens says Gordon Hayward has a dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia"

Did you see it? this is similar to the injury Paul George had, hes done for the season
