Rodgers Vs Brady

Meh, he'll be able to make an argument when he retires, but A-Rodge doesn't even belong in this conversation for a few years.

By the way Matthew Stafford holds the record for most passing yards through his first 100 games breaking a record held by Dan Marino. Does that make him better?

Matthew Stafford of Detroit Lions breaks Dan Marino 100-game mark

Yards are less impressive than low interception to high touchdown rates. Marino threw a lot of picks. As, I imagine, does Stafford.

Brady's nothing without the guy that deflates the footballs.

Rodgers doesn't need that kind of help.
Ummmm......

"Nantz: We talked to [Aaron] Rodgers about 'How do you like your footballs?' Because, you know, you can rub them up before the game. [Phil], you really kind of created that for everybody else in the league.

Simms: I don’t know if I did, because the quarterbacks got tired of them complaining. But he said something [that] was unique: 'I like to push the limit to how much air we can put in the football, even go over what they allow you to do and see if the officials take air out of it.' Because he thinks it’s easier for him to grip. He likes them tight. Of course, he’s got very big hands and you can tell that by watching him play."

All politicians lie.

All quarterbacks cheat.

Did Kelly win the Super Bowl? Did Marino or Fouts? All were excellent Quarterbacks, but all of them didn't win when it counted. Troy Aikman was better simply because he was able to win a Super Bowl twice.
Aikman won Three...

Marino made it to the Super Bowl. The dolphins ran the ball 9 times...NINE times...for a total of 25 times. Marino had 2 standout wide recievers and they had time...but they always threw the ball short on critical downs and werent able to pick up first downs and sustain drives. The 49rs defense was good...maybe even borderline great...but the Dolphins didnt do themselves any favors. they were 4 for 12 on 3rd down attempts. Marino overall threw for 29 of 50. Marino was in the Superbowl what he was as a career QB. He was good. VERY good. He wasnt great.

Yeah.......

That recent comeback against the Falcons.

I could see that the balls were as flat as pizza's.

Sometimes people forget the year the Packers won that SB, they had a dominant defense.

Brady wins SB with undrafted WR and OL.

The amazing thing is that the creator of this thread lives in a city where he witnessed the genius fail as the head coach of the Browns. BB didn't win until Brady became a starter.

Rogers is the greatest QB that I have ever seen.
I posted a stat that was dug up after the first of the year by one of the Sports talk shows...Aaron Rodgers is 0-35...ZERO wins to thirty five loses...when training by more than a single point going into the forurth quarter. He has exactly 2 wins going into the fourth quarter trailing by a single point.

He may have all the skills on the planet...but that is not the record of a 'great' QB. Great QBs thrive in the 4th quarter.

He is 7-27 in the regular season and 1-4 in the playoffs when the Packers are trailing entering the fourth quarter.

Try this stat instead. When the Packers have the lead entering the fourth quarter, Rodgers is 70-9 in the regular season and 6-2 in the playoffs. So 65.6 percent – or almost two-thirds of the time – Green Bay enters the final quarter with the lead.

So he is a good quarterback. He wins a majority of time when his team has the lead in the fourth quarter and has a dismal record when his team is behind in the fourth quarter. When you have to have an article explaining why your fourth quarter stats suck, you arent the GOAT...and you dont belong in the conversation.

He is 7-27...but 0-35 when playing against teams with a winning record and trailing by more than 1 point. He loses against good teams.

You know...I could really respect a Marino or Fouts if they played for...say...the Browns...and never had a championship caliber team. But Tarkenton, Kelly, Marino, Fouts...these guys all had talent. Tark and Kelly had 4 shots at the golden ring. I think they are QBs with great talent. But a great quarterback wins a superbowl. Really great quarterbacks win multiple Super Bowls. The GOAT wins 5 of them. At least.

Keep your eye on Derick Carr. He is a QB the is going to be in the hall of fame. I think he will end up as good as Brady when its all said and done. He has that same mentality.

Dude, I never said he was GOAT. I said he is the greatest QB that I have ever seen. What he does is astounding. Only Steve Young compares.

What that shows me is he is risk adverse. Almost opposite to Brett Farve. When you are behind you have to take calculated risks and gamble a little to make things happen. The great ones know how to balance risk and safety and know when to throw the dice for all the marbles. Rogers doesn't seem to have that balance yet.

It was fun watchng him til he went down with the leg. Hopefully he comes back at full strength. For all the fans the Raiders have around the country it would be nice to see them in at least 1 season where they didnt suck!

What I see is that Great Quarterbacks can be harmed by the quality of the team around them.

Roger's Packers are not the same caliber as Montana's 49ers or Brady's Pats or the Cowboys of the 90's or the Bills of the 90's for that matter.

The GOAT monker is from the OP.

I agree he is a great QB. Best I've seen? No...not even the best playing the game today. But...thats a subjective thing.

Rogers is a better QB than Brady. His teams have not been as good though... Of course, that does not matter when GOAT is on the line.

SB wins, MVP's, etc. that is what matters.

The best I ever saw was Johnny Unitas from my young age, laying the groundwork for QBs as we know them today .

He's been having his teammates collide with his legs in practice. That's one tough minded SOB. Mckenzy is turning the team into a blue collar lunch pail team of the old Packers mold, and very successfully I might add. As much as I liked the old Raiders style of Al Davis, Lyle Alzado, John Madden, Ken Stabler, John Gruden and company there is no place for that kind of team anymore and thrive at the same time.

True that.

They were in the top 6 in scoring 5 of 9 years as a starter. top 10 in 8 of 10. 6 of 9 they had the top 10 in points for vs points against with an overall average of 6th). 1st place in their division in 5 of 9 years. His teams were at worst 'solid'.

Down by 6 with 90 yards to go, 2 minutes, no timeouts...who do you want under center?
