I think he is crazy. After being out for about 1/2 the season last year with concussion symptoms PLUS he has had numerous ones before. Why wait until the end of the season...end it now.

He has nothing left to prove. Sure, he would like a title...but he is 20'th now and one more hard hit and his concussion symptoms might become permanent.

It's his life, but I would (hopefully) call it quits now, were I him.

He has been GREAT for NASCAR though - will be sorry to see him go.

Not surprising, but very sad to see his career ended short like this. And I agree, he should end it now and not risk getting another concussion.

He has something to prove to himself and likely doesn't want to end without completing the season. Much like a football player, if it's his choice, doesn't usually end his career mid season.

I know I wouldn't think less of him if he quit now but he obviously does have a problem with it.

I wish him well. He will always come up short in comparison to his father.

Is it really ending short though? The guy is in his 40s.

best wishes to him, and i hope that he makes it through the season safely.
