Both: the Pats kept Tom Brady even though he is a confirmed cheater too.
Nonsense.
The NFL is like a job. When an employer hires someone they look for employees who have high character, a good work ethic and high morality..... on the work field. What you do outside of work is not a major concern unless they have a specific policy i.e no felons.
Rarely do the Patriots bring in players who have low character on the field.
The difference with the Patriots is CULTURE. Teams like the Bears for instance, have a very poor culture. They had a QB starting that simply was playing for a pay check. He didn't have any passion for winning.
I certainly blame Cutler but however you have to blame the Bears organization for rewarding such behavior.
Just ask Martellus Bennett. He played on two teams with hostile environments - The Cowboys and Bears. Toxic environments caused him to be labeled a malcontent.
The Cowboys simply had no leadership in the front office or field. Bennett mentioned Jason Witten didn't even talk to him while he his teammate. That's pathetic for a supposed Hall of Fame TE.
What happens when he goes to the Patriots? He becomes a model citizen and a key cog in the Patriots winning a Super Bowl.
The Patriots do not micromanage players like the Bears or Cowboys. Again, that's why players play for the Patriots at a reduced salary.
