NCAA Tournament 2017

I was working last night and just had score updates to go by. The first half was just plain depressing and they didn't really pull away until 2 min left in the 2nd. I'm not sure what their FT% was last year but it sure seems to be a LOT better this year and it's making all the difference right now.

This is the best FT shooting team Miller has had at Arizona.

They can play defense in spots. They've beaten everyone on their schedule including road wins in KY and AZ. If at least 3 of their 5 are on their scoring game they can get by with their spot defense. If one guy is cold then they're in trouble and that includes tonight.

No. UCLA.

[h=3]UCLA is an offensive force. But can the Bruins win it all without defense?[/h]https://www.washingtonpost.com/.../ucla-is-an-offensive-force-but-can-the-bruins-win-it...
1 day ago - UCLA is all offense and little defense — the antithesis of a typical title contender. Can they break the mold?

Baylor's team is definitely bigger and stronger than the USC guys, but they only have a 5-point lead at halftime.

Hopefully UCLA loses. Mr. Ball is a joke!

North Carolina squeaked pass Arkansas. Many of the NC fans have stayed in the gym to root for South Carolina to take down Duke. I love these intense rivalries!

Six more teams today have punched their ticket into the Sweet Sixteen: Michigan, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Oregon and Baylor.

South Carolina just might knock off Duke!

Cincinnati v. UCLA at half. Cincinnati up 33 -30.

SC knocked off Duke!!!

Yesterday almost all of the teams I enjoy watching played. I enjoy watching Louisville (wife has a grad degree from there, so we watch many of their games) and they lost. I enjoy watching anyone who can beat Kansas, but Michigan State lost. My wife loves anyone who plays Kentucky and Wichita State lost. I enjoy watching Duke and they lost. And Mizzou is not even in the tournament, but I'm sure they were somewhere losing, given the season they had.

Not a good day from a personal perspective. At least UCLA won, they are fun to watch. Otherwise, it was a pretty brutal day at my house.

Baylor has easiest road to Final Four
If everything breaks Baylor's way, their next two opponents would be No. 7 South Carolina and No. 8 Wisconsin.

I like our path to the E8 more than yours. WVU is going to be tough.

Definitely. Especially if we turn it over as much as the 2nd half against Northwestern. Xavier absolutely slaughtered FSU though so maybe there's something there.

Sure. Let's do it.
How are you a Gonzaga fan from Missouri? Seems like a really odd team to be a fan of. Don't get me wrong, I like Gonzaga, just not a fan.
Mizzou just hired his dad. And he's from Columbia, Missouri. I think they're going to take him.
If Mizzou can land Porter, at least that would give Mizzou fans a reason to watch next year. The last couple of Mizzou teams were very sound fundamentally, they just didn't have ability. They made the best of what they had, they just didn't have much. Bringing in a top tier talent like Porter would be a nice change.

With Duke and Villanova gone the ticket prices for the East Regional in MSG just took a hit.

But the South regional certainly will be fun. Kentucky vs. UCLA will be loads of fun. I wish the game start time was earlier. Almost 10pm here in the East. Booooo

I'm pretty happy to see Nova and Duke gone. I doubt Wisconsin or South Carolina will advance after the weekend, but it's still nice to see some new teams in the mix.

For some reason, though, I expect Kansas to win it all, or come real close. And, that is not new.

There's a good chance the Final 4 'matchups' will not be 'Marquee' like. UCLA, Kentucky and NC all being in 1 regional now hurts. 3 of the most popular College programs and only 1 can possibly make it to the Final 4.

I'll watch the Final no matter who's there. But to be honest I would have loved to see a UCLA vs. Duke matchup. Or Kentucky vs. Nova. I do like it when new teams make it far in the Tourny, but the final matchup I like to see the marquee teams.

I like that three Big 10 teams are still around. But, I suspect Kansas will kill off Purdue. I like Michigan over Oregon though. And, Wisconsin should be quite competitive against Florida. My team is Xavier though--it's a homer thing.

Xavier is always tough.

This is a good looking court.
