I'm starting to get into the NHL and I wondering what I team I should follow since there is no real close one near by (the closest would be Vancouver). So do you guys have have any recommendation on which team I should make my as my own?

As a frustrated Coyotes fan I recommend avoiding them.

The Atlanta Thrashers. . . . . oh wait . . . . .

St. Louis Blues. You'll make the playoffs basically every year, but never win anything. But every year there's a feeling they can break through and make history.

Guess their are no Canucks fans here?

As a Sabres fan, I implore you -- for your own mental well-being -- to avoid them at all costs.

If you're a glutton for punishment, the Hurricanes.

Los Vegas has a new team, starting play in the fall. Could be exciting but frustrating for a couple years, but they should be exciting once they get going. Winnipeg has what could be the most exciting young player in the game right now. Due south of you San Jose and LA both play good, solid, fun hockey. That leaves 25 teams, so if not them, what do you want: speed, hard hitting, young and going to be good, older and good now, over the hill and not so good(my Red Wings)?

Soon though! Seems like that is the case most years, but if their young D-men come together, they could be really good. I like that I get them and Nashville local broadcasts here.

Nothing wrong with Vancouver. Minnesota may be the best this year.

The Blackhawks make history pretty regularly.

Northstars.

Sharks, Oilers, Bruins, Hawks, Penguins, Blue Jackets, Capitals, Canadians, Wild, Senators...any of those will keep you entertained for sure.

I really do not know, I'm new to the Hockey but I do know I will never support an L.A. or Cali based team.

Mainly it is there color scheme is similar to the old school Seattle Seahawk jersey.

Maybe Seattle will get a team.

You could also try Columbus. They are overachieving a bit this year, but they should be good and fun to watch for quite a few years.
