Losing to Buffalo at home without their starting WRs, RT, DT, FS, and last year's NFL leader in sacks. Luckily all short term injuries, but that's a lot to be without in one game

ATL got their bye at a great time for them; not so much for their opponent MIA;

Wentz v. Newton is as good a matchup as TV could ask for, though they'll have huge completion from Cubs/Nats;

Thursday games: week one; AFC between divisions; dog wins and huge over; week 2, AFC between divisions, dog wins again and huge under; week 3, NFC within division, fave barely clears ATS and huge over going against huge under trends for the under for years;

week 4; NFC within division; fave easily clears ATS and another unlikely over; week 5; fave barely clears ATS and a huge under; again against the grain;

So week 6, PHL v. CAR; NFC between divisions; o/u has dropped from 46 to 44, probably due to weather; a huge factor now for football and baseball with cold, miserable rain for several days and winds from the EN or NE, nasty ...

NFC: Atl, Pack, Philly, Panthers. I think 3 & 4 play Thursday.

Elliot suspension back on though DAL has a BYE;

GB will have their hands full with MIN's defense, though they're top 6 for sure; too early to count out DAL, though the RB situation is now way up in the air; (BUF, CIN, DAL, SEA have byes); too early to count out SEA, AZ, and LAR (LAR/JAX starts at 4:05 Eastern); WAS is 2-2 after getting boned in game one v. PHL, and come off a bye week v. SF; (NO, ATL, and DEN also had byes)

The 'sharps' are expecting PIT to at least cover at KC; Ben had a great game there last year IIRC; KC then DEN with a big matchup of LAC/OAK to stay close; AFC North is weak right now; AFC East is stronger than first advertised; AFC South is all over the map ...

I saw the Falcons juggernaut offense as unbeatable at home in the dome. But with those injuries, and maybe Buffalo is better than I thought. Or both.

My take is it's still to early to call the Rams a contender. But, the NFC West is a two team race, and LA is one of those teams. I don't believe AZ is the other. I know SF is not. However, neither LA nor Seattle are elite teams in the NFC.

NFC South is where the elites lie. All four teams have a killer QB, one better than the other. Pretty wild when Drew Brees is the least among the bunch. Atl and NC are both top tier teams. TB is up and coming.

NFC East has Philly and maybe Wash, if they can ever find a rhythm. Dallas's problems run deeper than Elliot, like Jerry Jones big mouth deep. Giants are in the hunt with Cleveland to win the #1 pick QB sweepstakes.

Packers are in a class of their own in the North. MN showed promise, but Bradford cannot stay healthy, Bridgewater is many weeks away from being relevant again, and they lost the young running back who maybe could have bridged the divide. Bears? Forgetaboutit. Lions would be a reasonable choice to make in an argument for a team who may challenge Rodgers for the Division. But...Lions.

I hear the Jaguars may have some interested in trading for Eli Manning.

Both teams should make an active effort in making that work.

Eli is probably the reason why all the Giant wideouts are injured. **** like that happens when your QB floats passes that are too high or behind the receiver, leaves them as sitting ducks.

Lots of MLB folks calling in tomorrow after Thirsty Thursday in the Central and Eastern time zone? :mrgreen:

Including Eagles fans, whose earlier game with KC this year, when they tied them early in the 4th quarter, takes on some significance.

And Carolina draws closer, with the o/u way over the final 43.5 already. Weather will be big this weekend ...

Eagles are the real deal, it seems.

Patriots have already beaten the Eagles in the SB... add the Seahawks, Rams, Panthers, and Falcons.

Bring em' on.

Patriots cheat.

What's your take on the games this weekend?

I see Jets +9, 49ers +11 and Bears +6.5 as pretty good bets

Jets getting 9 at home against a fickle Patriots team? I'd take that.

The other two lines look too big as well, but at least they are away games. Still though, Washington giving anyone 11 points sounds ridiculous. And, even though the Bears suck, only two teams have beaten them by more than a touchdown. Ravens are not the Packers and their offense is nowhere near as potent as TB.

Missed another Thursday pick; my bad;

WSH is coming off a bye week against a bad team; odds are barely moving to + 10.5, I'm laying off these dog games for the most part;

Jets + 9 is hard to predict; NE has extra rest and I expect Brady to go hurry up; (in fact the whole league should) ; NE's defense was better 10 days ago;

I have BAL -6.5; Bears are terrible on the road; AZ straight up as odds have moved from TB -3 to TB -1.5; Wimped out only teasing last night's game. A dozen or so odds have swung enough, as usual, for teams and totals;

PIT from +6 to +4, Ben was big in KC last year IIRC and has a game face now; over moving;

4 domes Sunday along with good weather in the other 8 cities should lead to a lot of points; different local times at JAX and KC;

MIN from +4 to +3 heavy with that defense and a possible letdown from GB;

NO off a bye week hosting DET at a beginning -5, now at -4 light, with the o/u dropping from 51 to 49.5 ;

I'm sure a ton of people have already said this but I'll add to the chorus, Phins goin' all the way. New o-line coach, now we're a lock.

NO is crushing the Lions. Bears are up on the Ravens while GB lost Rodgers to a shoulder injury. lol...maybe the Bears find a way to win that division. Wouldn't that be something?

Is spotting the Falcons 17 points part of the plan?

The Bears follow the Cubs you know. Flacco looked better at the end of the half. Brady woke up. Rare Change of line by 3 points to CLE and they're getting clobbered ...
