I said this 2-3 years ago about Brown. Some here disagreed and said he was a 'good teammate'. He's not, and I am SHOCKED the Steelers resigned him. He's a cancer, and because of him, IMO, Roethlisberger will NOT be back next year.

Ryan Clark rips ‘selfish’ Antonio Brown for putting himself before team

“Antonio has done an extremely good job of tricking people,” Clark said on ESPN Radio, as transcribed by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “He’s done a very good spin job of having us think, or making people think who don’t know him, that it’s all about the Pittsburgh Steelers, [Brown is] just a hard worker who’s here to win football games. No, Antonio Brown loves Antonio Brown.

“If you listen to people talk about him. If you listen to the media, a lot of time the fans, they have an adoration for him that is not necessarily a depiction of who he is. He’s like most receivers. He’s selfish.”

You were on a good roll until this. Roethlisberger is MUCH more of a pocket passer than Rodgers.

I know what he meant. No QB in history is as accurate as Brady and Rogers. They are 2, 1 for most TD's and the fewest Int's thrown throughout their careers. Ben, not so much.

Rodgers makes passes on the run that are not human. He's the best, and most accurate passer I've ever seen throwing while he's on the run out of the pocket.

Brady and Roethlisberger aren't that type of QB, they both are pure, drop back pocket passes. They don't move. Brady for all his greatest, the book on him is pressure him, then he's not nearly as good,.. The Giants proved that, so did the Falcons for the 1st half of last years SB..

I agree Ben is not as good as Brady, or Rodgers. But he is MUCH more of a pure, pocket passer than Rodgers is.

Yeah. Rodgers is clearly a scrambler.

I am concerned about the Patriots offensive line. Brady is getting killed out there!

Goddamn those Bucs uniforms are awful. Hurts my eyes. If the NFL are wondering why their ratings are down- its because of those damned color rush unis!

Radio dude said TB's defense is almost as bad as that of NE. So, I see 60 between them, pretty much a sure thing, IMO.

One never brags on a streak; 85 to 90 % of my choices are on totals these days; over/unders; left the first 2 MLB games alone, took the Astros over, left Cle alone as it trended under, and of course got the under 56 early on NE/TB.

LAC/NYG--LAC hates playing at home right now so I'm ignoring the flight east for LAC; got the over at 44, now at 45; these two QBs could go over in the first half; passing on the ATS and SU;

JAX/PIT has dropped 2 points to 42; I might whack that over; expect Brown and Ben to light it up; JAX offense should be rested;

CAR/DET--dropping for a different reason; Cam's head won't be right; DET went under last week; I chose CAR to win their division before the start; this is why I don't choose division winners on the #s, or series like in MLB; enough of my boring BS for now ...

Hmmmm. Streak? You are tied with TopCat in the pick'em league. Hopefully one day you will catch up to me.

19-14, lol. Neither team reached 20, yet alone 30. I wonder how that happened. But, I don't care enough to look into it.

Jesus, it seems all the kickers in the league suck now. What the heck happened? I've never seen field goal kicking this bad before in all the years I've watched.

I think what we can conclude is that the Pittsburgh Steelers are a mentally weak team.

No to little leadership on that team. They were so distracted about the anthem they lost to a pathetic Chicago Bears team. You have Ben Roethlisberger regretting not going on the field and Alejandro Villanueva "accidentally" standing in front of the entrance by himself. Ya, that's as believable as Eric Decker's wife saying her husband was tricked in staying in the locker room.

The real problem is Antonio Brown. He is truly a malcontent player that wouldn't last a day in the Patriots locker room. This player is extremely talented but plays the game for all the wrong reasons and is a team cancer, in the mold of a Terrell Owens.

The Steelers would benefit from trading Brown. I would trade Brown to the Falcons for a second-round pick and Tevin Coleman.

The Steelers need to return to being a ground & pound team. Roethlisberger is not a pure pocket passer like Brady or Rodgers.

Throw the ball less and run more. Brown is an overrated WR that gets the majority of his stats during garbage time.

Since you're the expert, I'll leave discussions around mental weakness to you.

LOL!

Big Ben and Brady were both young QBs that won SB's early. Both were given a lot of credit, however, those teams won SB because of their defense and veteran leadership.

Big Ben hasn't won a SB since.

Reasons why the Steelers won the SB;

2006 -
Veteran leadership that carried "little" ben - Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward, Troy Polamalu, Randle El, etc
Defense
Coaching
A little luck in the SB from the refs

2008 - Dominate defense with Harrison, Polamalu, and Woodley
Great OC calling from Bruce Arians.

Notice in those SB's, Big Ben didn't win the MVP - it was his receivers: Hines Ward and Sanonio Holmes. In both SB's he was outplayed by the opposing QB - Hasselbeck and Kurt Warner.

Kickers are so fickle and they just bounce around from team to team. They should just take place kicking out of the game.

The Bucs used a second round pick on a kicker last year who was cut this year (He maybe with the Bears now). They actually traded up for him.

One could argue he got a gift in the 05 SB

Funny guy. Unfortunately for Roethlisberger, unlike Brady, he's never had the benefit of playing his entire career in a division where he's gifted 5 or 6 wins without effort at the start of every year and thus is gifted home field advantage throughout the playoffs where his team manipulates the environment to his benefit. How many AFC East teams have played in the SB during Brady's reign as the Cheatriot's QB? How many AFC North teams have played in the SB during Roethlisberger's reign with the Steelers. Has Brady taken his team to a SB win from the sixth seed in the playoffs like Roethlisberger and Rodgers? Has Brady taken his team to a SB win while having to travel for a playoff game other than the SB game?

The Steelers aren't one of, if not the most respected NFL franchises in its history and the Cheatriots aptly named for no reason.

The Cheatriots might get the chance to prove me wrong this year if they have to travel in the playoffs to make it to the SB. Didn't do so well 2 years ago when they had to travel to Denver, did they? That "mentally weak" Roethlisberger won 4 straight playoff road games to win one of his SBs.

Roethlisberger has had his fair share of comeback wins in the league, regular season and playoffs, but it's pretty rich to blame him for the fact that his teams have had superior defenses along the way and an offensive strategy that highlighted ball control ground games that ate up the clock and kept the other team's offense off the field. Brady, on the other hand, has benefitted from incredibly brain dead head coaching decisions by the opposing team while winning his last two SBs. There's no denying that Carroll and Quinn gifted Brady and the Cheatriots 2 SB rings.

The Steelers play in the AFC North where they have dominated for the overwhelming majority of the super bowl era. They have more Division titles, and Playoff berths from being in the AFC North than the New England Patriots have from being in the East. And I hope you do realize that it sounds absolutely absurd to claim that Big Ben is better than Brady because Big Ben has to play in 5th and 6th seed playoff teams compared to Brady who's lead the Patriots to 1 or 2 playoff seeds.

The Steelers aren't one of, if not the most respected NFL franchises in its history and the Cheatriots aptly named for no reason.

You do realize that the majority of NFL fans despise the Steelers, right? Outside of Pittsburgh, the Steelers have always had a reputation of being dirty hitters who often went for cheap shots to intimidate opposing teams. James Harrison, Joey Porter, and Troy P alone are the leading cause for CTE behind literal car crashes. The Steelers might be respected for it's legacy, but they're not held in the regard you think they're held at.

Work smarter, not harder. At the end of the day, Brady still has far more superbowl rings than Ben and looks like he will outlast Ben career wise too.

Take away two of Brady's rings, and he still has 3 rings over Ben's 2.

The Brady jock holders come out of the woodwork even when Brady isn't being dissed.

Read my post - when did I claim that Roethlisberger was better than Brady? I'll give you a hint - I didn't. I said, factually, that their playing careers have followed differing paths because of the divisions in which the two play. You conveniently avoided the two questions - how many SB appearances have AFC East teams, other than the Patriots, had during Brady's time? and how many SB appearances have AFC North teams, other than the Steelers, had during Roethlisberger's time? Secondly, how many times has Brady had to go on the road multiple times to win a SB? The answers to those questions tell you all you need to know about how bad the AFC East has been over the years compared to the AFC North.

And yes, lots of other teams' fans hate the Steelers - mostly because they're almost always good, Steeler fans travel and support their team like no others, and they have the most SB of any team in the league. But only a fool doubts that the Steelers and the Rooneys are among the most respected by those in the know and who care about the league as an institution. Cheatriots have recently gained some of that hate after decades of fan indifference to them, mostly because of their recent success and primarily because they're the Cheatriots.

It's always fun watching the obliviousness of Patriot's fans lecturing any other teams fans about how unlikable their team is to those outside of the fanbase.

Fans of other teams tend to hate the Steeler's for the same reason teams of other fans tend to hate any of the "big" fanbases...

A large segment of fans that have zero ties to the city they're cheering for, that are "fans" because either they, or their parents, jumped on the bandwagon at some point because "THis is a good team! I'm going to cheer for them now".

As much as I dislike the Cowboys, I have far less issues with Texas Cowboy fans as opposed to Fairfax Virginia ones. As obnoxious as the random steeler or patriot fans are, I don't have any issues with the actual Pittsburgh fans or the people from up in New England. It's the random southerner who likes to pretend he's a southie who will drone on for hours about the greatness of bellicheck, or the jackass who's never even stepped foot in Pennsylvania but will bring his terrible towel when watching the game at a friends place.

The biggest reason people dislike fanbases isn't necessarily BECAUSE they are successful or because they "Travel"; the fanbases that tend to appear to have the biggest bandwagon fans, either at the time or legacy wise, are the ones that people tend to be annoyed with the most.

Meet the new Cardinals, same as the old Cardinals. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

I have to admit, even as I boycott the NFL, tonight's Houston KC game does sound intriguing. I'll probably check the score as i watch the Indians game.

I'm not boycotting over the knee thing. I just quit watching football over the brain injury thing. But, I have to admit, I am going through withdrawals.
