Discussing the greatest of all time.

It's nice to see everyone vote for Gordie but, by the numbers, Gretsky's the guy.

I was a Red Wings fan as a kid in the Original Six days, when there was only Maple Leaf jerseys around me, because I thought God was spelled H-O-W-E.

Shows you what a class act Gretzky is... but Howe was pretty incredible. His weight varied only 2lbs. from the start of his career to when he retired at 51.

I was happy to see Johnny Bucyk recognized. As a kid, he was my favorite player... big, tough and fair. Derek Sanderson was also a favorite of mine... could almost chalk him up as a talent wasted... he fed Orr the pass on the famous Flying Goal.

Stan Mikita... never forget him wearing that Lange helmet and revolutionary Lange skates. His story about the curved stick is a sporting Alexander Fleming moment.

Orr was the guy other teams laid awake at night trying to figure out how to stop, and never did.

Gretzky had a nose for the net but was one dimensional.....great scorer!

Orr could score on you playing shorthanded and did many times.

Orr gets the nod for being the most feared player of his time.

I think Don Cherry called Orr the best ever... too bad he had crappy knee surgery which cut his career short.

Gretzky was pretty incredible, the way he used the area behind the net was something new. He wasn't just a goal scorer, I liken him to Magic Johnston... more a playmaker with great vision, ability to read the play, great anticipation of where the puck was going, and all this opened up opportunities for his linemates... and himself.

I have watched them all since the 60's.

I think Howe gets it for his overall contribution to the game.

Bobby gets it for being totally dominant on the ice. Catch me if you can!

Gretzky........goal!

Mario.......... goals and playmaker.

Even as a Blackhawks fan during the 70's, I loved Bobby Orr. Phil Esposito was no slouch either. Probably my two favorite players of all time.
