Simple. Who is the worst Super Bowl winning QB?

I vote Dilfer. What a joke. He then sits on ESPN like an expert.

Why is McMahon even in this list? He should have been MVP of SB XX. The Bears offense was unable to score without him in the lineup.

Jim Plunkett. 72-72 career win/loss, 198 Interceptions to 164 TDs, completion % 52.5... and he played for the Raiders. :2razz:

I think it's about overall, not just the SB game. Including the regular season the team won the SB and the QB's career.

It's hard to figure because the passing game has changed so much. Bradshaw could be on the list even though he won 4 SB's. His career completion % is something like 50%. Now? That's awful. But back then, not so bad.

I still stand by my original argument then. McMahon was the 2nd top passer in the NFC during the 85 season, just behind Joe Montana. The reason why the Bears didnt win more superbowls was because he got hurt. Their defense was great since 1984, but McMahon got hurt that year and they lost to the Niners in the NFC championship game- if McMahon had not been hurt they probably would have won it all in 84 and 86 as well- their defense was tops in all those years.

True... but he still played for the Raiders. :2razz: Anyway Dan Fouts (long live Air Coryell) had a career 58.8%. I'd put Fouts in the list of great QBs who never won a Superbowl, him and Marino.

Yep, and even Fouts 58% completion rate would be seen today as only fair.

Nowdays 60% is minimum. But passing is much easier now. Not as much hand play and holding is allowed by the pass defenders.

So Bradshaws 50% is really bad by todays standard.

How good of a quarterback you were in college/pros does not indicate how much knowledge you have of the game.

Most experts were in fact mediocre football players in the pros and college.

Harsh to put Eli on this list

How about Doug Williams, he played great in the superbowl he won with the Redskins but did not have much of a career

I voted for Dilfer, but there's been some crappy ones.

I agree. Dilfer is a very good analyst. He's one of the few analysts who knows what he's talking about and makes sense.

Diller is a colossal asshole.

He's very good in my opinion. Not sure why you have such animosity toward him?

Dilfer is extremely articulate and unfortunately people prefer the bombastic style of a Skipp Bayless or Stephen A. Smith.

Dilfer provides a WEALTH of knowledge which probably goes above the average fans head.

Imagine Brett Favre on the mic. He would get fired by mid-season because he just really isn't an articulate person.

One of brightest offensive football minds in America actually never even played high school football - Mike Leach.

Tough choices, but I went with McMahon because he really really sucked as a QB. Did he ever even play a complete year? But, pretty much anyone on that list qualifies.

I like Gruden and Aikman for analysts. I don't know if I ever remember hearing Dilfer. Collinsworth isn't half bad, but that might be more due to me liking him as a player.
